I saw that you are trying to get your guild active again.
I currently run two guilds and I have an idea for you.

Why don't you open up a Contest and Game Subfourm?
You can host guild contests and members can post their posting games.

I did it to Weird Inc. and our members were more active after opening the subfourm.

If you open this fourm, since people may not want to discuss religion 24/7 they have a place to post, and lurkers will have a place to post
That way the guild will have a higher post count and be more appealing.
The more active the guild the better it looks to potential members.

Oh and another thing, since you would be playing games and stuff, people would get to know each other, which will bring the guild closer together.

I think it's a good idea.

I like that suggestion. I noticed that when I started creating game threads in another guild that I a crew member of, activity really picked up. It's nice because it does help bring people together and helps them get to know each other. Plus it's a nice alternitive to consistent debating and discussing.

Yeah.

I know that this is a guild that is mainly discussion and debating only but not everyone wants to debate all of the time.

This would be a good way to break the ice.
People cant really get to know each other if they are just debating.

I think we could use the variety.
