Born into a wiccan family, Haruka was raised by the wiccan beliefs and ways. His family being ridiculed in the town as Satanists, since the town was big in christanity, so wicca wasn't accepted. Learning to ignore people and stay true to himself was one of the things Haruka was best at. Even though he wasn't accepted and only had one close friend Haruka was happy.
But that all ended when he and his family where in a car accident. It wasn't anyone's fault it was caused by a blind spot in the road. Having been declared dead for almost an hour, Haruka came back to life, however his parents where not so fortunate.
For a month or so, Haruka lived alone. No one would take him in his best friend offered by like many other adults the friend's parents hated him as well. So continuing his life of school and magic, Haruka finally found a god he was truly faithful to. The God of Death and Reincarnation. But that soon fell apart when Haruka's grandparents came and took him in.
The biggest problem with this was, his grandparents where part of the clergy and hated Haruka's beliefs the most. So in attempt to save "his soul" they ripped Haruka's soul apart. They forced him to church, forced him to get baptized, to read the bible until he practically memorized it. But the worse was sending him off to christian therapy and to a christian school.
Through the spiritual splitting, Haruka remained strong to his wiccan ways. However even he was weakening and started to give in. But that was when his dream came. The god he worshiped so much felt sorry and pity for him, so he came to Haruka in a dream telling him he was gonna save Haruka. The dream came for several nights and Haruka started to become anxious. What did his dream mean? And what did it mean when Haruka's god would be coming to Earth and appearing exactly like the transfer student in Haruka's dream?

Starting
The morning routine was like normal, Haruka's alarm went off, instead of the buzzer or radio it was a bible verse. He sighed, only a few words got through the machine before he turned it off. Getting dressed, he put on the school uniform, his pentacle hiding under all of his clothing, which he felt more comfortable than if it was shown. Throwing on the gold cross necklace he headed downstairs to breakfast where his grandparents where.
After a silent prayer, of course not listening to his grandparents words anyways, he sent his prayer his god, the god of death and reincarnation. Once breakfast was done and over with, Haruka finished getting ready for school, which didn't take long and he was out the door before anyone could say anything.
Once outside, Haruka pulled out an MP3 player playing music that was so not christian. Singing softly to the song, he looked up noticing that he was close to the school and his mood died down...a lot. He just hoped it would be better than other days.

Azrael watched Haruka's morning, pitying the boy. But today, things would be better. He had promised him that he would help him, and the gods never break their promises. With a wave of his hand, he let the image of the boy making his way to school disappear from the surface of the black water pooled in the bowl next to his throne. He stepped down from the black seat propped up with the skeletons of those who had died and the shadows gathered around him, turning his appearance into a younger, more human version of himself, before opening a portal to the human world next to him with a wave of his arm. "Soon, my faithful worshiper...I shall deliver you from the hands of those who wish you harm...even if I must do it myself." He started towards the portal, but a voice called out from behind him. "Lord Azrael! Lord Azrael! Where are you going? You mustn't leave the underworld!" The demon that scuttled towards him squealed as he merely brushed him away like an annoying fly. "Do not get in my way, pest. I have no time for you." He stepped into the portal, which closed up behind him, leaving behind a twitching and very worried demon.
Azrael appeared just inside the gates of the school. It felt strange...standing in bright light...It was morning; of course. He looked himself over, flexing his fingers experimentally. Not too bad. It had been a while since he had been in his human form. He was wearing the school uniform; the blazer half way up his arms, his shirt un-tucked and his necktie loose around his neck. He gave a shrug and made his way into the school; now, to 'enroll' or whatever those humans called it. Riku had been waiting for Haruka outside of the gates, so he hadn't noticed the death god's sudden appearance inside of the gates. He leaned against the brick wall nervously and then pushed himself off, just to lean back again. Then, he caught the sight of his friend's golden head coming from a mile away and pushed himself off the wall for the last time. "Haruka!" He called, and waved. The sudden motion caused his glasses to slip and he reached down to push his glasses back up the bridge of his nose again. He had to frown at the sight of something glinting around his friend's neck that wasn't his usually pentacle. Sure, he had grown used to the sight of the cross now always around Haruka's neck, but he had preferred it when the pendant Haruka carried had been a symbol of something Haruka believed in; not what his stupid, control freak grandparents believed in. Then again, Riku was an atheist, so he really couldn't say anything about beliefs. "Haruka, ohaiyou*~!"
*Good morning

The sight of the school had him in instant depression, but it wasn't as bad as normal. Lately he's been in a better mood ever since his dreams started. Normally he wouldn't think such a thing would happen, but the dreams were different than normal, they gave him a instinctive feeling he could believe them this time around. Looking up, he thought he heard someone call his name, then he noticed someone coming up to him. Riku.
The meeting in the middle he gave a smile, chuckling as the other fumbled with his glasses a bit. He cut the music putting away his MP3 player. "Ohayo Riku" he said as the two walked to the gates. Walking through, he caught the sight of someone he never met before. His uniform was sloppy, as if he didn't care about anything. However seeing the man brought a sense of nostalgia to him. Before Haruka could say anything though the other had already disappeared into the school.

Riku frowned a little as he caught sight of the new student. Maa...why did everyone think it was okay to look so sloppy? Who was he? A new student? Probably. When did he even get in there? Riku was in front of the gate the whole time and he didn't see him...Huh. Weird. "Ne, Haruka, you're looking awfully....chipper...this morning..." Emerald green eyes studied his friend in a half-accusing way. Azrael stepped into the office, and looked around. Good; no one was here yet. He waved his hand and his shadows became a stack of papers which arranged themselves and landed on the registration desk neatly. The human would think she had just over-looked it; and if she didn't...well...he could always brainwash her into thinking that she did. He stepped out of the office and into the hallways.

Riku's words didn't register right away when he spoke, he was focused on the new student. It was after the new student was out of sight that he heard Riku's words. "Huh? Oh not really. I've just been sleeping better and I think my grandparents are being a bit more lenient." he said as he started to head to the doors of the school. Hearing the bell, he sighed as he started walking to his class. "I guess we better get going before were late."
