General info:

Also known as Celestial dragons.

Rarely seen, even among other dragons, it is often assumed that cosmic dragons are shy creatures and reclusive by nature. They however would vehemently deny this, stating that it is not their fault if others do not enjoy the high altitudes as they do, or cannot understand their chosen subjects of conversation. The scientists and astronomers of the dragon world, they like to think of themselves as the inspiration for discovery, and if given the chance would likely even take credit for the theories of other scientists such as Einstein, Newton, and Steve Hawking.

Though generally aloof, should a cosmic dragon find you share the same interests, you will never be able to get rid of them (whether this is good or bad is a matter of some debate). Proud (some might say boastful), curious, and extremely intelligent, the cosmic dragon makes up for it's light build and limited physical strength with agility, grace, and strategy.

Territory:

Cosmic dragons make their spend their childhood and youth on the tallest mountain peeks, raised in small colonies of nesting parents and watched over by a single elder dragon who has elected to stay behind and guide future generations. As dragons grow older, they will fly continually higher, until they reach adulthood and the ability to fly beyond the atmosphere and into space.

Adult dragons return to land only occasionally, most often to nest, visit friends still bound to earth, or meet up with those of their own kind (it's far easy to meet at a designated piece of land than in the vastness of space). It is not uncommon for many years to pass between visits to land.

Ancient dragons rarely return to land, most having already taken their final journey to the distant stars.

Breath Weapon:

Cosmic dragons are unique as a race, seeming to be capable of using a great variety of elements. The cosmic dragon's breath weapon is made of plasma, an element capable of taking multiple forms.

This plasma can appear as freezing crystals, flames, lightning, wind, or light. However not all dragons are capable of using all forms of plasma, being a variable element plasma is difficult to control. Young dragons generally only show control over one form (though which they learn first varies among individuals), adults show greater variety as they learn higher levels control. It takes a lifetime to learn true control and mastery of all forms of plasma, only ancients reach this level.

Cosmic dragons are far more often referred to by others as Celestial dragons, though they prefer the name Cosmic themselves

Silver, blue, and indigo are the most common eye color among cosmic dragons; however green, amber, gold, and rarely black are also seen.

The star pattern on every cosmic dragon is unique to that particular individual, no two are alike.

Adolescent dragons can fly along the edges of the outer atmosphere. Only those who have reached adulthood can fly beyond and into space itself. Elder and Ancient dragons rarely return to earth, preferring to spend their days among the stars. It is thought ancients can reach distant stars, nebulae, and perhaps other galaxies.

According to myth, cosmic dragons can cross the barriers of space time and into other universes/dimmensions, if you believe such things are possible.

Cosmic dragons do not breath oxygen, but rather can breath nitrogen, argon, and hydrogen even if said gases only exist in very small quantities.

The blood of a cosmic dragon is silver.

Language and sayings

"Until our stars meet again" - a parting, spoken to close/cherished friends, family, and loved ones

"Until our stars cross again" - a less familiar parting, generally spoken to passing friends and acquaintances

"May our stars meet again" - a sorrowful parting, most often spoken between those who know or fear they will never meet again in this lifetime. This greeting is often spoken to ancients approaching the end of their days and who will soon take their final trip to the stars. This would be the equivalent to the human 'may we meet in the next lifetime'.

"By the stars" - an expression of awe, wonderment, and/or horror

"In cosmos name" - an oath or vow, sometimes (though more rarely) spoken as a prayer; this is sometimes used as a curse, but such is frowned on

"Cosmos leave you/him/her" - a swear, human equivalent could be 'go to hell'

"May your stars never shine again" - a condemnation, can also be translated as 'may the stars turn against you'

Tanaka - otherwise known as 'the cat of evil'. If you ever meet this cat, it is NOT recommended to try petting him as he tends to bite. It is however recommended to bring cookies, lots of cookies, and don't even THINK about trying to keep them away from him. He -will- eat your cookies, just deal with it. You also might want to watch your tail when he's around, or you may end up with sharp pointy teeth latched to said tail.



Miles - He mostly keeps to himself away from the other pets, and the cat is happy enough to let him (biting scales does nothing but hurt one's teeth!) A bit aloof, though not unfriendly, he has a fondness for small shiny things and slithering around the bookcases in the room (maybe he likes the height).



Orion - The only canine type creature to survive the cat of evil, perhaps because he tends toward the highest levels of the room. He is unbothered by Tanaka, though sticking his tongue out at said cat might be tempting fate. He is friendly and outgoing, though he has a mischievous streak.



Tesla - A recent addition to the chaos that is Sheridan's room. Tesla is one of the brat poms Sheridan 'won' during fright night. His grumpiness might just rival that of Tanaka's, this can lead to them sometimes getting along in a common goal or evil and sometimes a flurry of fluff and teeth when they fight. More often they are content to ignore each other.
