Crit's needed! Mentor needed also!

Recently, I have painted a mask.

and..there's something about it that I'm not entirely fond of.

Any painter's tips so that I don't make the mistake again?

"Nothing, really."

I like the patterns you've got going on here. They definitely add a surreal aspect to the piece, but it's not in a "I don't need to have realism, so I like surrealism now!" way. It definitely adds to the piece. biggrin
I also like the effect of red dripping. Is it supposed to be blood? Either way, I like it muchly.
However... I'm not too keen on the stripes on the nose. But maybe that's just me...

I noticed that about the nose too, I should've made it a better circle, or at least stretched it.

The blood was a mistake, I planned to keep the tear very small but it ended up like that. The blood inside of the nose was the first of the mistake I had with the blood.
