Favourite poems?

Okay I posted a thread like this a while ago in the Alice in Wonderland forum but it didn't get many replies. And I couldn't find another thread like this in the guild.

So what's everyone's favourite poem(s) from both books? ^_^

Also for dicussion about the poetry.

I'd have to say the Walrus and the Carpenter -

outside of all the little funny little bits; I just love the line from Ferris "I could be the walrus, I'd still have to bum rides off people."

Ooh, those are both good poems; very fun. ^_^ But I have to say, my favorite has always been "You are Old, Father William". It was always read to me in the most catchy tune of all of them, so it always stuck with me. <3 Besides, I love that old man. <3

But a close second is "A Whiting and a Snail". Because it's equally giggle-worthy. ^_^

And pretty much anything by Emily Dickinson and Poe!

Oooh... those are all good selections, but how about from the Alice franchise? There were a lot of parody poems in both of the books, and several even ended up in plenty of movies about the subjects. ^_^ Any of them appeal to you?

Oh my, it so hard to choose!

The Walrus and the Carpenter will always have a special place in my heart.

I used to try to say it along with the movie when I was very little.

It wasn't till I was in high school that I memorized it for fun.

SO I think it might have to my favorite!

(Even though I've always hated the ending)

Ah, the Jaberwock... I think that's probably one of the most iconic poems from the two books. ^_^ For good reason, of course.

Tehe, a dose of Wonderland any time is a good time indeed! XD

Haha, the Walrus and the Carpenter is indeed a fun poem... I always loved the Disney movie animation that went along with it. ^_^ Even if it did end a bit grimly, haha. ^__^

Ah, well predominately Wonderland/Looking Glass, but it's a general poem discussion thread, I believe. I know I'm always looking for more recommended poetry, if you have it, Ethereal. ^_^

Currently trying to learn as many of the poems as I can by heart 3nodding my favourite has to be either How Doth The Little Crocodile or Jabberwocky smile closely followed by the Lobster Quadrille

Of course, my favorite is Jabberwocky its one of the more familiar poems to people, consider Disney used it in their version of Alice in Wonderland. Although people may not know its proper name , they'd know it as the song the Cheshire cat sang when he met alice
