Reason why I want to learn more about TZM. Something I hate... critisizing without knowing what that thing is about.

Any questions on the Movement, ask away! i'll do my best to answer anything however, don't be upset if I pressure you into reading the Activist Orientation Guide! (especialy now that you can't get another book from the library for a month! xd )

I don't advocate the movement itself but rather the understandings explained by and advocated by Jacque Fresco.
I think many people associated with the movement feel they have to connect with a movement so much that they fail to understand the concepts, or take to time to learn them.
We all have faults we just need to recognize them and admit there is a problem. Then we can work at fixing it.

Just to be clear, the "Movement itself" is in fact just as you said, "...the understandings explained by and advocated by Jacque Fresco." and nothing more. The Movement is NOT Peter Joseph and is NOT the Zeitgeist movies; they are simply the artistic creations of Peter Joseph. So, if you're looking to advocate the above stated quote, then this movement is exactly what you're looking for smile . Too often do people get The Movement mixed up with Peter Joseph's own ideals; there is plenty of media to disprove that, including Peter himself stating such a thing in one of his radio addresses (resource available upon request).

I just want to address your second statement by saying that a movement, organization, or whatever is just a place where people can find a safe haven. They can talk with like minded individuals when they feel out of place talking with anyone else. They have a place to organize activism on a mass scale or get help organizing smaller one on one based activism. And of course, have a place to throw questions out that others might not understand. So, it is only beneficial to all parties involved that someone join a Chapter (such as this here Guild) a do their best (that they are comfortable with) at spreading the knowledge.

Quote:
When I speak, I try and use a little of my opinion as possible, and only say what I believe to be true, and what I understand well enough to talk about. ...
Many people, I believe just verbalize their opinions all the time. They do this without even having a full understanding of the subject. This, I've seen leads to arguments and confrontations, pride. This progressively gets us nowhere.

I'm a big advocate of knowledge, and being open to possibilities. I will never instantly turn down a piece of information, or discussion topic. Instead, I will consider it and put it to the scientific method and compare it to my previous experiences

Words to live by, man, it'll be awesome having you on board!! biggrin Your help is going to be greatly appreciated when we get things rolling a bit more!

I learned of Zeitgeist from a friend in the National Guard, saw the movie and have always been skeptic, but the movie proved quite a few hypothesis I had been forming in my mind. After all, it doesn't make sense that they scrapped the leftover pieces so quickly...

First off, welcome aboard! Can I ask what movie you've seen or just plain, how extensive is your knowledge of the movement? I always hate sounding redundant so, if theres something you already know and I go on about...I feel like an a**.

Also, man, feel free to tell us a bit about being in the military! I know for a fact, from a few friends that are in the military, that things are pretty messed up; just the institute itself, not to mention what goes on over seas!

Sorry I haven't been on for such a long time, I had to go to the Qual range (go shoot targets) and a third shift job.
I've seen both movies and the trailer for Moving Forward. I've also found numerous videos on Youtube that argue in favor and against the movies, but found out that the arguments against are only about the religious section, even then the groups trying to debunk it where Christians with their own obvious agenda and where proven to be false in themselves. I also know plenty about chemicals and have found supporting evidence of the water being poisoned by things the media put out as safe for us to consume, even beneficial.
The military is bullshit; the culture within almost makes it feel like some toned don and even more constricted version of Bohemian Grove. For example, I got pissed off when I was told I had to go to Fort Irwin, only a week before going when I had a wedding to attend. I asked a Warrent Officer if there was anything I could do to fix things, but the First Sargent pulled me aside and yelled at me for misusing the Chain of Command.

Ahh ok, awesome so you definitely have some knowledge of the movement under your belt, thats great! Are in contact with anyone local at all? Your local chapter or anything? So far I've yet to come across anything or anyone that can put down the movement at all in any intelligible way. And honestly...why would you really want to? Here is a group of people looking to help everyone in the world and gaining absolutely nothing in return...whats the big deal? lol.

Your instance with the Warrant Officer and all reminds me of a similar thing that happened to a friend of mine in the Navy. I know when the press is aboard, he isn't allowed to come out and talk to anyone. It's messed up.

Thanks for sharing, man.
