A Question Regarding Plot Progression Within A Chapter

I'm trying to go from when a certain character sitting in a camp to when he wakes up to the sounds of invading orcs. How would I go from Point A to Point B?

I've read that if you're having problems getting from point A to point B in a story, it's most likely because you're starting at the wrong point A. If it's not important for your character to be sitting idly in camp, then it may fare better to begin at the awakening instead.

An interesting thought. He's not necessarily idling in camp, but it could be possible to get the information from the camp into the place immediately after the battle with the orcs.
