My friends needs help...

My good friend is a inexperienced Empath. He is having a difficult time with it, because he's always feeling down/sad/confused. Is there something I can do/tell him that might help him understand how to control the feelings he is getting?

I usually tell people to look towards mundane reasons, before "magical" when it comes to such things. Has he been to a doctor to make sure that he isn't suffering from a form of depression? Also depending on how old your friend is, such feelings can be a natural part of growing up. If he's still a teen, hormones can make a person feel all sorts of up, down and all around (all at the same time, sometimes xd ).
