Crumpling the application with vicious enthusiasm, the professor snarls a bit before tossing the damnable thing to the Acceptance Bin, who was more than happy to get rid of it for her. With a small huff, Hellma hit a button on her skelly-phone, and paged Red. " Mongrel. Open basement sea pools, we've got one of those."

Nicknames: Mars, Zena, etcetc. but she really prefers to be called her full name

Faction/Race Monster- Selkie
Personality:
Even though she is a selkie, Marzena resents the stereotype lingering around her race that defines them as simply pretty faces who use their looks to seduce humans. She is determined to show that she can be fearful and has thus cut off her long lustrous hair. (This is what she says, anyway.) As her race has been mocked for being helpless once their skins are stolen, Marzena wears her skin as a pelt at all times and does not allow anyone (and is especially wary of Reapers) to touch it; even a slight accidental bump will cause her to whip around and glare at the offender.
Marzena secretly admires incubuses/succubuses for being able to not just seduce humans, but use them to their advantage instead of the other way around.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Marzena wishes to be feared instead of scoffed because of her race.
She is interested in Human Studies, Gym (Even though she might not possess the incredible physical strength other monsters have, she believes in being fit) and especially Professor Tailor's class. (Altering her appearance? yes please!)
Fear: Melting Skin (Tainted Fang) -- Her power is that of appearance illusion, and for now, she is able to make the target seem as though their skin is peeling/melting away, with the feeling of pain. Once she gets better at it, she may be able to intensify the pain, increasing the target's belief that this is real. As she advances, she may also master the ability to branch out into different appearance illusions.
((Athazagoraphobia- Fear of being forgotten or ignored or forgetting.
The fear stems from the legend of selkies being forced to stay on land when their skin is stolen and having go confront the fear that their world might be forgetting them or that they may be forgetting their true roots. Marzena wants to use this fear against others instead experiencing it herself.))
Minor ability:
-Charm: A passive aura which affects humans much more effectively than it does the residents of Halloween Town.
-Seal form: Even though Marzena is always seen with her seal skin, no one has seen her shape shift into a seal, even when she swims in the saltwater pool. While many surmise that it's because she wants to be more dependent (and that a seal form isn't much help in scaring people anyway), the truth is it is the result of a curse that has hindered her from taking her seal form. Before enrollment, Marzena had secretly approached a witch to place a curse upon her. What is the payment for this? No one knows.
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Ocean blue
Hair Colour/Style: Originally had long platinum blonde tresses, but Marzena has cropped it to a short bob style and dyed it a dark blue (so dark that it looks black at times) instead.
Skin Colour: Extremely pale, creamy white skin
Clothing Style/Colours: Black, grey and dirty white with furs; Marzena likes a high fur collar and with her seal skin tied around her waist as a belt.
Extra: No mutations. Marzena wishes.

Ilona Adriatico
Mother
Ilona was mostly absent from the family, her skin having been captured by a human when Marzena was seven, when Damian, the youngest then, was just a year old. She returned only when Marzena was thirteen.
Marzena has a rather wary relationship with her mother; she missed her in the years Ilona was gone but did not know what to say when the latter returned.
Manfred Adriatico
Father
"The males seem more inclined to spend their time raising storms and damaging the boats of the seal-catchers in revenge for the indiscriminate slaughter of seals."
This is true of Manfred, although he pretty much started recklessly damaging boats with no discrimination between seal-catchers, after his wife was stolen from him. Manfred did not see the point in Marzena asking him to teach her how to raise storms, only taking along Radek at the time. Manfred is a rather awkward father, not really knowing how to manage the family after his wife disappeared and is clumsy at showing his affection. Manfred has platinum blonde hair, along with a mustache and a beard, which only Marzena and Radek inherited.
Marzena does not have a very good relationship with her father; constantly arguing and demanding to tell her the truth and teach her to be independent, but he refused.
Mira
Older sister
17 years old, 3 years older
Mira had to grow up pretty quickly, being the oldest, mothering her younger siblings in absence of her mothering. Constantly worrying about her family, Mira strictly herds them together and warns them not to swim off alone, in fear that they may disappear too. While Marzena respects Mira, she has had some minor tiffs regarding what they should do to prevent another disappearance in the family. Marzena believes that they should toughen up, while Mira firmly advocates that the family should stay together, and to never go to the surface alone.
Sabina

Sabina constantly annoys Marzena as she is vain and always worrying about her looks. Many a time has Sabina bemoaned that she should have Marzena's hair because she would take care of it better than her younger sister would.
Serafina
Older sister
15 years old, 1 year older
Under Sabina's influence, Serafina too, cares about her looks, though is more quiet than Sabina.
Radek
Younger brother
14 years old, same age
Marzena's younger twin brother; Radek is constantly befuddled as to why Marzena is so different from the usual Selkie females. He enjoys stirring up storms with his father, but believes that it is too dangerous for his sister to attempt. Despite this, Radek cares for his twin, and was the one whom she first told about attending Amityville.
Zofia
Younger sister
13 years old, 1 year younger
Zofia is an energetic young girl and loves playing hide and seek, often scaring Mira when the eldest sister cannot find her whereabouts.
Aldona
Younger sister
12 years old, 2 years younger
Aldona is often found playing with Ada and Cecylia. Aldona, along with Cecylia, try to stop Ada from her silly pranks, although they sometimes give up and join in the fun. Of the three, Aldona is the quietest.
Ada
Younger sister
11 years old, 3 years younger
Ada loves playing pranks on the rest of her sisters (though not Mira, as the younger ones, with the exception of Zofia, are intimidated by her) though has to be constantly reined in by Aldona and Cecylia when they think her ideas get too out of hand.
Cecylia
Younger sister
10 years old, 4 years younger
Cecylia is a very cheerful young girl who giggles too much. She does this very often, laughing for what seems like no reason at all, though it's really because she suddenly remembers some of Ada's pranks, like weaving rotten seaweed in Sabina's hair when she was sleeping.
Emilia

9 years old, 5 years younger
Emilia constantly follows Mira around, helping her with the chores around the house.
