An excellent core, arm, leg, and all around exercise. Hoop dancing is awesome and has tons of benefits more than just toning for your waist. It is meditative, a distracting action (as in rather than eating and reading (a problem for me) I can hoop instead and can't eat anything while I'm doing it!). It is awesome in every way. biggrin
There are fitness hoops which you can really only hoop around the waist with, and there are trick hoops, which don't burn as many calories but are WAY more fun. I have a trick hoop.
