Somehow this had turned into her normal haunt, most likely just because she knew the place, and the regulars here, and sadly felt safer here than her preferred hang out, the park. As of late she had to pick safety over what she really wanted, and it was this or hang out in her room, which she wasn't at all fond of either given she wasn't at her house anymore. Course her spending right now was cut short due to hospital bills, and she was oddly thankful classes were over for right now, course she was going to take summer courses so the break was a short one.

All in all this immortal thing sucked so far, okay yes she was caring enough to not go randomly wander streets pushing her luck, and she had been wise and moved. So she was showing caring about her existence, which was in a way an improvement for her, but it left her terribly frustrated. Which apparently left her sitting at Joe's on a monday night reading a French text book, one of those 'learn it yourself' books. Given she was on the forth one in less than two months she had to be doing pretty good with it. After all she might as well get a jump start on learning annoying languages.

So maybe right now she wasn't really paying attention to the book, zoning out a bit as she looked over the room, but the book was really dull. Besides the crowd was picking up a little so it was proving to be more interesting at the moment.

Methos opened the door leading into Joe's, poking his head around the doorjamb and looking around for the source of the buzz. When he saw Kali sitting at one of the tables, he nearly backed out.

Instead, he took a deep breath and walked up to the bar. Joe gave his a bit of a smirk, but it wasn't unkind.

"Beer?"

"You have to ask, Joe?" Methos responded.

Really she didn't think she was that bad, so the fact she was pretty sure she saw Adam give an amusing expression, couldn't have been because of her. Though on second thought, and looking around again, maybe it was because of her, well that was just rude then. She hadn't ever done anything to him, had in all fact been rather chilled since moving here, minus a few times that she wasn't going to share.

By now she would hope Duncan had talked to Adam, certainly by now, she'd taken a few days just to calm her nerves back down and reorder her life. So some might call that hiding, and she'd be more than happy to convince them otherwise, except that whole trying to avoid pointless violence.

She was putting way too much thought into this, proof that her friday night was going rather poorly to her. So with a sigh she used her foot to push out a chair at her table in silent invite and left it up to him what he was going to do.

Well, that's an invitation, Methos thought, as he looked across the bar at Kali. He felt a twinge in his chest, and decided to blame Mac for his minor stab of conscience.

Grabbing his beer with a grimace that sorta resembled a smile, the oldest Immortal made his way to Kali's table and sat. "So," he said, falling into his signature slouch, "how's Immortality treating you?"

Honestly Kali was surprised that he came over, much less sat down, so his 'smile' got her to rol her eyes, couldnt help it. Wasn't really shocking though, no one was really pleased with her change in status, couldn't blame them for that either, if you were them she wouldn't want to be stuck with her either.

Still she answered plesantly enough with a smile even that wasn't forced, lest he asked anyway. "Other than paying hospitial bills, rather well, been setting things up for long term, french amuses me, and just been chilling so far." Well somewhat been chilling, oddly she wasn't one to sit idily by, shed been doing a lot recently once she got over her shock. "So it's not so bad."

Methos stretched his long legs under the table. "Like everything, it has its pluses and minuses. How are you getting on with Mac's teaching style? He's one of the best -- but don't tell him I told you that."

He hid his smile in his glass of beer. If he was any judge -- and at his age, he liked to think he was -- Immortality seemed to have actually settled Kali somewhat.

"Annoying as hell, but he's a kick a** teacher." She answered honestly with a shrug, "Though I follow you whole don't tell him thing." Because that would just get to be aggravating if people starting thinking she was nice or something.

Methos grinned, then lifted his beer glass in a toast. "To MacLeod. May he stay the way he is, squeaky clean and boyscout fresh."

Well she supposed she better toast to that so lifted what was left of her drink, the ice mostly melted by this point, "Someone has to be after all." And she knew she'd never fill that role, even if she wanted to in some insanity, didn't see Adam being a goody-two-shoes either. "Still strikes me as creepy."
