Why do people act like assholes?

So I posted a topic in the ED because the GD isn't a place to post real discussion topics anymore and I've had two people being an a*****e to me.

One called me a cynical douchebag for saying that my view is biased and the other didn't even read the post and got mad when I said that I might need to add a tl;dr version for those who didn't want to read two paragraphs.

Just wondering what you guys think about this crap.

I realized why I never went to the ED last night.

It's because the majority of them are dickheads that just want to use big words to get the point across.

A few of them had valid points and such, but then the others resulted to name calling, which in itself shows stupidity.

I think I'll stick to the GD, even though the people are a bit annoying.

One even called the topic stupid! Like wtf?
I'll leave them with their 897987987 god topics.

GD and ED... not like they used to be.
ED is now GD about, and GD is like CB though a lil better.

Eh, I remember the GD being MUCH nicer than the ED is now.

But yeah, the GD used to talk about real issues. Not total junk.

You still see the semi good topic, but other than that, it's nearly impossible to find something decent.
