I am sure this thread will be quick to be locked, and I will be just as soon mocked, but it seems to me that this guilds problems do not lie in the guild as a whole, but with a small group of members who seem to do nothing, but cause trouble.
I will not name, names, but it is fairly obvious who the main problem is.
Lets call them member "X"
Let's say I post a thread containing the deck list of my new charmer deck. One based on a archetype I have always enjoyed, and I concept I find fun just based on taking control of my opponents monsters.
Then User "X" comes in
User X:
This deck is total crap. I hate noobs who come in here and think they can win with such suck a** decks. Do us a favor learn to play, start running Blackwings, and then come back so I can tell you 'you still suck'"
Now I am obviously hurt having put a great deal of thought into coming up with cards to make this deck run, and contain elements I find fun. So I point out that

I don't like to use Blackwings they are not very fun because everyone uses essentially the same deck. Sure some people may have anywhere from 5 to 10 different cards from deck to deck, but it is still a pretty much straight cut and paste.

Like Charmers, they just don't work. You need the opponent to be playing favorable types, then you trade two monster for one, one whose effect is less than great. I am on your side Kitsune and I am trying to find a crew member who can properly moderate the deck database as this is the hub for all attacks.
As for you Armycat, if you think the guild needs coaching then coach, if you think the crew is inactive be active and as for the clutter that is an ongoing problem that will continue until the other issues are sorted.

I do to Army I am making a tongue in cheek remark about the gratuitous use of the word.
I for one don't particularly care if charmers "work". The bottom line is that I have fun playing the GAME, and they are one of my favorite archetypes ever since they were introduced to the GAME.
I somewhat pity the players of this GAME. Who feel the only way to play the GAME is to run the deck that is proven to "work".
If you are so vain as to ignore the thousands of cards, limitless combination, and strategies this GAME has to offer, in favor of the 100 or so cards that "Work"
Then you truly lead a sad existence.

I've always blayed this game with the concept of skill, luck, and fun. I always thought people like to show off their own combinations and deck creations. It seems I was wrong about most people. It's like they try to be perfect in game, and let me tell you it's impossible. They create super strong, hard to summon monsters because they want to know if plays are skilled enough to handle their abilities. I laugh at those unfortunate to figure that out.

I too have been on the receiving end of many tongue lashings on this guild and in the table top forum. Heck if you head over there now, I'm currently being hailed as a n00b. The only thing I take aay from that is that there are things that I still have to learn. Sure, Aki might give many verbal offenses, but so far I've haven't seen Aki ever really be wrong. For as long as I have been posting on Gaia, I have seen three kinds of advice: Good Advice, Harsh Advice, and Bad Advice. The harsh advice is usually the stuff I follow, as it is brutally honest. So complain about the advice Aki and others give, it's probably the best we're gonna get here.

Thats the issue. She doesn't really help, she just says the decks are terrible and we are noobs.
I don't deny the fact that my deck is not about to win any big tournaments. Nor am I going to attack the main example.
Blackwings
I like blackwings. I quit yugioh just as evil heroes were emerging, and restarted just as Ancient Prophecy came out, I wanted to play Blackwings when I found them. I like the swarming ability Granted I did not have Vayu or any Blackwing synchros still I played them and won a good many local tournaments.
I stopped when I found out how many people use them.
What I am complaining about is her narrow mindedness. Never does she understand what we are doing. I might post a charmer deck, and instead of saying add this she will tell me that it will never win, and I should just move on.
I don't care about winning end of story. I just want her to either stop being an a** or give us help we can use for the deck WE want.

Noone says that you have to listen to them. response to your off topic comment: yeah and if you get a great hand (Alien overlord, Alien dog, and alien telepath/kid/warrior) you can swarm pretty well, almost as good as BWs. back TO topic, yes and if that doesn't help, go to a different forum. i know Gaia/ mods don't really do much about trolls, but thats not the case for every site, especially sites dedicated to YGO, they are usually helpful with the exceptions of a few trolls that get banned in a few seconds.
