Kei is a vampire. His maker grew tired of his undead life, and stopped drinking blood hating what he was. Later on when Kei finds out he tries to get him to drink blood, but he won't. Kei's maker makes Kei take him to the beach, so he could see the sunrise and end his life. Kei watches him, then runs off before he could burst into flames. He manages to get into shelter from the sun. Sho an orphaned kid, trips over Kei as he's running to catch up with his brother Shinji and friend Toshi after they stole a briefcase filled with money from some drug dealer.

He takes him back to the hideout they were staying in. Sho's brother and friend were putting the money into a tin can when the man they stole the briefcase from comes in telling them to put the money back. The man shoots Shinji in the leg as Toshi runs off. The man tells Sho to go get Toshi and he does run off after his friend. He hears a screm and stops. He makes his way back and see's Shinji saying that the man's a murderer. Sho goes to see for himself and sees Kei drinking the blood from the guy. Instead of getting scared, he smiles and laughs.

((This is an AU of sorts from the show Moon Child. The same people are there, even Yi Che but Sho falls for Kei and Kei falls for Sho. I need a seme Kei))

People say death is final right? Well Kei knew that they really did not know what the hell they were talking about. How did he know? Well it's kind of hard not to know when you're a vampire that can only be killed by fire, sunlight and stakes. When you're a vampire death is only the beginning: literally.

There was a dream -actually a nightmare really- that always managed to plague Kei: funny how even though dead a vampire can dream right? Actually it wasn't a dream since it had indeed happened to him. Well not to him but to his maker. He could still swear he smelt the awful smell of burning flesh: even though he hadn't been there while his maker burst into flames. Nightmares of his Maker's death were later plagued by his inability to protect everyone -he could try as he might but sometimes it didn't help- especially the young Sho that he had given up everything to protect.

Kei tossed and turned in the darkened room that he had called his own for awhile now. The nightmares plaging his mind over and over again -this one of Sho and his Maker: which didn't happen very often- and Kei was twisting and turning. Suddenly his eyes snapped open and he lunged up from the bed as if he had been burnt. He breathed heavily -despite not having to breathe: somethings were harder to get over then other- and looked widely around the room. When nothing popped out at him Kei slowly calmed down. He returned to be passive as he ran his fingers through his short hair. He licked his lips: grateful that Sho hadn't come to wake him up. He didn't know what would have happened if Sho woke him up in the middle of a nightmare: he'd never forgive himself if he ended up biting him by mistake.

He shivered, tossing the covers back onto the bed. His internal clock telling him that it would be nighttime in 5 minutes. He walked over to the bathroom to make himself presentable: last thing he wanted was Sho to worry about him. Sho had enough things to worry about and Kei did not want to be a burden.

Kei stopped, keeping to the shadows of the house that wasn't as lit as it could be -which was easier for him then for someone like Sho- and turned to look at Sho.

"Sleep? Well probably as well as you did." he said, frowning darkly.

Sho could try to hide it all he wanted but Kei was far from dumb: he knew the other didn't sleep as much as he should.

He cleared his throat, "Hold on a moment." he muttered, slipping into the bathroom and closing the door without a sound.

He leaned against the door for a second before pushing off and pulling things from the medicine cabinet. He licked his lips -wincing when he cut his tongue on his fangs. He groaned at the taste of stolen blood in his mouth before spitting it out into the sink. His eyes darkened and grew wide at the scent. He clenched his hands around the edge of the sink, taking a few unneccesary breaths to calm himself down. When the spell was over he grabbed his toothbrush and brushed his teeth: he had to keep his fangs in tip top position even if he didn't use them to feed anymore.

He spit out the disgusting taste of toothbrush before bending down to grab some water to rinse it all out. He spit into the sink and looked at himself.

"Should I do something to my hair today or what?" he muttered to himself.

He'd ask Sho since he really didn't know. He pushed off the sink after turning off the water and left the bathroom.

He closed the bathroom door after turning off the light and walked around the house lighting the place up. Kei liked light: it reminded him of days when he didn't have to worry about finding blood to eat and staying inside during the day instead of being out in the sunlight.

His gaze wondered over to Sho, "You don't have to spend your nights with me. Could always sleep during the night like regular humans do." he said, walking over to the boy -to him- that he just adored: not that he'd say it out loud to Sho.

He reached forward, running his thumb under the other's left eye, "You look like me during my first days as a vampire." he shook his head, pulling his hand away.

It was their usual routine... Sho would wake up and have a smoke and make coffee, while Kei went to the bathroom and freshened up.
They'd usually discuss their plans after that...
But somehow, this day was slightly different.

When Shou turned around to find his vampiric friend standing there, he didn't know what to say to the comment at first.
But then Kei's gentle yet cold fingers were prodding gently at the dark circles beneath the human's eyes and he quickly turned his head to the side.

"Urusai... I just had a nightmare or something. I can't remember what." he spoke, the cigarette still sending up smoke between his lips. "I like staying awake at night. It isn't as hot and I don't have to deal with the neighbors."

Acting offended, Shou turned back to the coffee pot and poured him a cup. He didn't add anything to it... just black coffee... before taking a sip.
"Besides, life would be boring just doing the same damn thing as everyone else. This spices things up a bit." he replied, turning back to Kei with a slight smile.

"Doushite?" Shou asked, moving over to a low comfy chair and plopping down with his coffee. "I like how I am. And you're one to talk, you smoke too, baka."
Mock frowning, the human sighed, tilting his head back and staring up at the ceiling.
Of course... it didn't really register in his mind that this simple action caused his jugular to pop out a bit more than usual.
"I could be what? A guy with an actual job?" laughing, Shou shook his head, blue gaze focused on the ceiling. "I've always stolen from gangs and stupid fat men who think exploitation's a great way to make a buck... I like what I do AND I like the hours I keep."
He understood what Kei was getting at... he really did... but the young man just didn't want to acknowledge it.
Shou didn't want to think about what his life would be like... how lonely he'd be... if Kei just left.
