What kind of tournaments would you like the most? Here are a few ideas, and if you have more please tell us.
New Set - Only cards from the newest set can be used. A good way to test new cards and get used to them.
Newbs Only - Only cards from the last 3 sets can be used. A little more room for creativity and no deck stays the same.
Family Business - All monsters in a deck must share a word in their name. (Elemental, Gladiator, Saber, Gravekeeper, Dark, etc)
Structured Battle - All your cards must be from the same Structure Deck. You can edit it though, so you can run multiples from that deck and leave out cards.
Random - Each round a set is randomly chosen. You have to battle using a deck made using cards only from that set.

Anata wa watashi ga zutto mae ni "sayounara" to yutta hito wo omoidasaseru. My buds and I use Random hat-pulls all the time to keep stuff interesting.
Structured battle might not be such a great idea... I can already see Machina Mayhem and The Dark Emperor at the top of that list. At least, until Dragunity hits statewide.
Family would be interesting...though Heroes would probably top that.
New and Noob are probably the best of the list. Most creativity and friendly of the bunch (doesn't punish newer players for not having things like Mirror Force and Solemn).
You remind me of someone I said goodbye to a long time ago.

How about a tournament where everyone's deck is based off a Yu-Gi-Oh! character's deck?
The Random deck battle sounds interesting, but I would be game for any of those.

Random, New, and N00b sound fun (without abusing things too much). ^^
Though, technically, n00b is a derogative term, and newb would be more appropriate.

I Really like Family buissness, and that one about having to base our decks of of our favorite character (if we do I call Rebecca Hawkings)
and If we did we should have to have their signature card/s in our deck

I favor the last 3 choices. The first 2 hard pretty hard for those who don't have the "money".

The Ultimate Hero I favor the last 3 choices. The first 2 hard pretty hard for those who don't have the "money". Well as I have told people in the past you don't need to have the cards. You can use proxies or YVD.

I say Random, definitely. Gives the new players a chance to play with what we veterans had to play with once upon a time. Likewise, it gives us veterans a bit of nostalgia if the set is old enough.

Would Random or Structured allow the use of forbidden cards as long as they came in that deck or set?
Like, if we got LOB, would we be able to use Raigeki or Pot?
Cause those seem kinda fun.
Also, a tournament that had no limited/restriction list seems like it would be interesting.
