Okay, so, long story short:
There's this guy at school who's my best friend. We always make each other smile and laugh. We always have something to talk about, and we always have fun when we're together. Even if people are trying to annoy us.
But it's not really a romantic thing or anything like that. I mean, we give each other hugs, but that's it. We don't hold hands and we don't kiss. It's mostly just that we're amazingly good friends.
Well, at Winter Ball, one of our slightly-annoying friends comes up to us and asks if I wanted to dance with her since her boyfriend didn't want to dance with her. My friend responded: "No lesbian dancing with my girlfriend!" That got her to shut up, but he was immeadiately like, "I didn't word that right, did I?"
And it's not really that I'm uncomfortable with the idea of us being boyfriend and girlfriend, but it just feels like those terms are supposed to be used after a certain point. But I don't know what that point is.
Basically, what I'm wondering is this: At what point do you go from being really good friends to being boyfriend and girlfriend? Or is it just a matter of when both people feel comfortable with the terms?
