I've only gotten a secret rare in a pack once, so I was wondering...
...are they added to the pack (10 cards instead of 9), or do they take the place of your pack rare? If the latter, then I must have gotten an irregularity.

good question. I would think they take the place of your pack Rare, considering they are part of the card set (having a -000 at the end or being the last card in the set). Irregularities do occure though. I once saw someone pull two supers out of a pack.

Anything above Rare takes the place of a common you would have gotten, so if you get a secret, super, ghost, or ultimate rare, you will also get a regular rare and seven commons.

Since when was it like that? I've been playing this game since it first came out in the states, and never Have i've seen a scenario like that except with the twilight packs.

I see that all of the time! I've never seen a Super rare in a pack without a rare following right behind it.

I think my theory is more probable then a majority of glitched packs.

Oh, hey, I apologize. I was looking at another video, a Phantom Darkness Box opening and in the first pack, they got a Super rare, but no rare following it. However, in the Crimson Crisis Box opening, every pack they got a Super+ Rare, they got their standard rare also.

axean, Crummy is correct, whether he may be confused or not. The reasoning is, the rarity in packs was adjusted starting with the release of The Duelist Genesis.
Starting with The Duelist Genesis, players still pull a rare in all packs, and the higher rarity card when pulled takes the place of a common. Reprints of the older packs, for example the Tactical Evolution, Phantom Darkness, and Light of Destruction that you get in Twilight Edition, have also been given this rarity change.

Seig explained it well but for those who need it any simpler in a pack you get 7 commons, 1 rare and either a common, super, ultra, ultimate, secret or ghost rare.

I remember going to the Duelist Genesis sneak peak and I was the first to open a pack. I got a rare and an ultra Montage Dragon. I didn't know about the rarity change and so I thought I had a glitch pack, but I was told I was normal. I'm still not sure if I like this rarity system. I do end up with alot of rare cards.
I've only had 3 glitch packs. One had 3 Arcana force the fool (another snak peak), another was full of rares and the third had the holo logo printed in the wrong corner (it was a real pack).
