About Me:

Hello, there
here on gaia I'm phloid but in real life the name's Amanda.
I am here to lose weight!
Firstly, I'm going for a hotter bod by prom,
then summer,
then I want to reach my goal by September, when I go off to university.
I want my university experience to be better than my highschool one
I want to just feel confident in my own skin and enjoy life!

I've always been heavier and I'm really starting to realize that,
if I continue on in my current habits,
my weight is only going to get worse and worse!
So, even though I've tried to kinda eat better before
This time I'm going to go full out!
'Cause every other time I've tried,
My lack of willpower is the death of me
So, I'm hoping though that having this diary so public will keep me motivated!
Yay!
^ ^

Motivation:

I have a little secret that has turned into one of my main motivators for weight loss.
You see, I wear these little black tank tops under basically everything.
They're simple, little stretchy tank tops that I'll usually buy a size too small
so that when I wear them they kind of suck me in,
they make my stomach look smoother
and I really can't feel confident unless I'm wearing one
(or, one of the select shirts I have that I can feel good in)
I just really want to be able to feel hot
without having to suck myself in,
I want to be able to wear just one layer
and still feel good about myself.
I want to throw away all my black tank tops,
it's going to feel so good!
hehe, yeah so that's my motivation > <

I recently found myself a new inspiration for lookin' hot;
I am reeeaally interested in earning a lookbook.nu account for myself once I go off to school and have access to clothing stores whenever I pleassee
I really adore the clothing some of these girls wear
and when I go off to school, I don't just want to wear the simple clothes I wear now,
I'd LOVE to update my wardrobe and co-ordinate outfits like these.
but I wouldn't feel as comfortable wearing many of these outfits in my current body
and I've never really seen a chubby girl on lookbook, hate to say it, but it's true
anyways, that's my new inspiration (:

~ Limit soda and kool-aid type juices
~ Eat more fruits and veggies
~ Never eat straight from the package; portion it into a proper snack/meal before eating it and leave the rest in the kitchen, or you'll never stop eating.

UPDATE - THE JEANS:

So, I've recently discovered this random pair of pants in my closet
I don't know where they're from really; possible from my aunt, possibly my really old ones
but either way, I've decided that these jeans are going to be my way of measuring weight loss.
I can get them on and do up the button (because they're stretch)
but I have major muffin top when wearing them
I feel that once I fit them perfectly, that is my ideal size (They're marked at size 31 from Bluenotes)
and my mom always told me it was better to focus on how your clothes fit
rather than you actual weight
So that's what I'm working toward now!
On top of my regular progress pictures,
I'll be updating you with pictures of me in the jeans
So here's the first:
(you also get a nice stretch mark shot D: )

Don't beat yourself up for being heavier. In fact, you sound like a curvy girl, even if you were thinner right now. So keep perspective with that... Because with the way media pressures us to be thin... it's just not realistic for some of us to be a stick. Besides. I'd much rather have boobs and hips than not. XD

Good luck to you though!! If you need help, we're all here! I hope you'll find your journey easier knowing that we're standing behind you on this! Just remember how hot you're going to be at prom when you lose that weight!!!

@ bitter:
yay, thannks!
ouh, neat that we're about the same!
I think it's easier to help support people when you're in the same boat!
So you can expect me to be lurking and supporting in your thread when you get started!
hehe.

@ anbaachan:
yeah, I wouldn't say I'm truly fat or anything
but I've definitely go some flub going on d:
my main reason isn't media pressure
I kinda just really want to be able to sit without having my stomach over my pants xD
it's not even like my pants are small or anything!
it also would be easier to fins clothes I feel really comfortable in
bu yeah, lol
I'm worried about losing my boobs!
I'm only a freakin' B right now
which, on a girl my height and shape, isn't big.
I can't afford to lose any more!
ahhaha > <

but yes, thankk youu ♥

xxxWow, so I usually actually eat food, I swear! Today was just super busy. Woke up at 12, ate lunch, then did homework all day, then my friends called and told me we were going to the movies (wanted to see Avatar but ended up seeing Sherlock Holmes) so we left at 5, without leaving me time for dinner and we live so far away from the theater that it took till 11 to get home, not eating time except theater popcorn and candy - which I totally resisted! Because I was surprisingly not too hungry, so I just had a light bowl of cereal so I felt less anorexic > < 'Cause I swear, not all my days are going to be this scarce on food! And I usually do drink 64 oz. of water, the holiday schedule has thrown me off. But I'll get back now that it's school again D:

I'll keep you my dirty little secret...

You don't actually look too bad. I know 192 seems like a big number, but you're quite tall. I definitely think you can look good for prom; in fact, that's what I'm trying to do as well! c:

I'm glad you've decided to change your eating habits, as that will really help you! Don't try to stop eating your favourite food all at once; you'll give into your cravings and binge! Try to eat a little bit of the foods you love each day. It's going to be hard doing that because you'll want to eat more of it once you've had a little, but you can do it! Willpower is stronger than that!

One think I find that works for me is to ask yourself: "Is this 'insertjunkfoodhere' worth the calories?" If you tend to exercise, you know exactly how hard burning calories is, and you'll think twice about eating empty calorie foods.

I wish you lots of luck! c:

...don't tell anyone or you'll be just another regret.

@star:
hehe, thanks ^ ^
I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to layouts xD

@Condom:
Thanks Emma!
And best of luck to you as well!
biggrin

@sarcastic:
yeah, I know my weight does seem higher 'cause of my height
but my BMI isn't the greatest either

And yeah, my eating habits were definitely starting to get out of control,
I'm glad I decided to improve them now before it gets too hard

Thanks for all the great tips!
and much luck to you as well,
I'm sure we'll both look smokin' in our prom dresses,
no matter what (;

Comments:
xxxWow, freakin' crapload of water! xD
And hmm.. I have a feeling all my calorie counts are a bit off seeing as firstly; I don't really measure out a lot, secondly; my mom cooks with a lot of butter and crap I have made her cut back a little but she keeps saying "I gotta use a bit or it tastes like crap!" and thirdly; I've just been basing anything not from a package on an online nutrient database so I may not actually be choosing the actual food that I ate - the person who recorded the calorie may have used a different brand, different size, cooked it a different way, etc. So yeah, I feel like I'm getting a good amount of calories.. but I'm probably not > <

xxxUGHH! I think I may have lost my DDR disk! Well... hopefully it's over at my neighbours, but I'll have to wait till she's home from school to go ask her, I truly do hope I find it though! D: ( I called and she didn't answer, jeeze what's with her family and answering the phone!? Dx )
So my dinner consisted of no veggies, which is lame and I kinda ate a bit too much of it but maybe I'll stay fuller longer tonight.. hopefully!
Overall my daily food wasn't the healthiest... but not too bad!
Also, I broke one of my rules in my plan; I skipped my aerobics class tonight D: I just.. ahh I feel so strapped with exams coming and this huge project I have. At least I did go for a ski, which totally felt like way longer than 20 minutes. I mean.. yesterday I skied 25 min. and I went down my road once. Today I skied 20 min. and I went down twice! So I was definitely givin' 'er today.

Comments:
xxxProbably ate a few too many candies and M&M's today, but not gluttonous amounts! So it wasn't so bad.
I was busy trying to decide which university to go to then I went to youth group(where there was a bowl of M&M's) which is why I didn't post yesterday and it also left me no time to exercise. AND I STILL HAVEN'T FOUND MY DDR! It's really depressing, I want to play sooo bad D:

Comments:
xxxHaha, okay so my mom made like two huge vats of pea soup (with veggies and ham) and so now you guys can expect me to be eating soup quite often (probably for lunch everyday for the next week or two xD) hence the two meals of soup today (two, because I'm not sick of it yet, haha)

And man oh man, was I in an exercise mood today! But I'm sad now that I've finished my book for english class, which I would read while biking, I'll have no excuse to do homework D: 'cause I have so much homework and studying to do right now 'cause of exams and final projects so now I'll just always be like "can't bike, gotta do homework!" when before I could be like "gotta read this book, may as well bike!" mehh, hopefully I'll find the time!

Comments:
xxxSo, I've decided that from here on out I'm too lazy to continue putting the calories on here. I had been doing all my calorie counts on The Daily Plate Application on Livestrong.com so I've decided that I'll continue actually counting calories on there but stop copying the calories onto here and just write what I eat, this forum is more of a support forum. If I don't post here, I'll lose the motivation of knowing that people are reading my stuff (if people actually are reading my stuff? If you are and I stop writing in here, PM me and yell at me, haha!

Anywaaaays, todays food was pretty good (except the evening snacks) but I think I ate too big of portions 'cause I made it up to about 2,000 calories today! Ah well, fridays are my splurge night > < THouuuuuugh! I did cut back on the amount of tostitos I ate rather than what I usually would have (though it was still a little too much)

There was a lot of soup again but at least it's good (and it has a lot of fiber! .. I never get enough fiber > < ) And that nutella and banana sandwich was really good, and it definitely kept me full till lunch - I usually get hungry during second period D: And we got brown bread again, so that's good :3
Anyways, it was good until my tostitos!

Comments:
xxxWow, I was outside for like 2 hours today. My neighbour and I walked down to our other neighbour's ski trail, went around twice then walked back. It took us 2 hours total but I'm guessing a lot of it was me waiting for her because my skis are way slipperier so I was going way faster than her. Then it also took her like litereally 20 minutes to finally get her skis on D:
But yeah, definitely a good ski.
