I tend to get embaressed under certain circumstances when reading fanfics. I don't really know why. Especially when I read fics of really people. It's odd. I feel like I'm watching porn when I see the images of the story going through my head. What about yourselves?

Right now, I am feeling quite embarrassed, but that's because I'm about to read a fanfic for a fandom I know next to nothing about, simply because it probably corresponds to exactly the flavour of fanfiction I'm craving. Which, I think, is probably a perfectly acceptable reason for embarrassment, since it tells me something amusing but shameful - that sometimes I really am that silly.

"Seriousness is the refuge of the shallow."
Lady Gyr, you're always silly *pat pat*
Occasionally, I catch myself thinking not-so-appropriate thoughts, and sort of smack myself in the head and say "Holy s**t, you did not just think that!" But most of the time, It's pretty cool :3 We're all entitled to our...guilty pleasures.
In fact, I feel more embarrassed when looking up videos of cute Asian boy bands x'D
(oh, and since I'm a spelling and grammar Nazi - it's em-ba-rr-a**-ed~)

I'm with Jasqueen, I always get a bit flustered with sex scenes in yaoi manga. D: It's like the whole "I'm reading porn about two guys" thing gets put into perspective...
Although, when I get embarrassed in fanfic I'm usually so into it that whenever one of the guys feel's embarrassed/flustered I do too... xd Intense, man. Mmmm, D/s and dirty talking...

Hm... Considering the fact that I've been reading fanfics for five or six years now, I don't get too flustered anymore. I mean, those scenes are what I live for and I dunno, I just don't get embarassed. I do if I'm reading with a friend, but otherwise, no.

Nah, I'm pretty shameless in private. I would only get embarrassed if I found out that my parents knew of my love for yaoi.

I only get embarrassed with fanfics and manga of hardcore and graphic nature. But then it's not actually embarrassment...I think. It's more like I'm sucked into the story and then it's just me reacting to the story plot and what the characters do (and what gets done to them whee )
And Saffron, I share that same guilty pleasure with the cute Asian boy bands. X3

I'm only 13. Imagine how I feel. Reading a cute scene of "I Love You"s and then I turn the page. BOOM! There's a d**k in my face...

I get embarrassed reading manga rather then fanfiction. Especially when it's really detailed (Ruff Love, for example). Or when I'm reading even shonen-ai in public. I wonder what people think of me when I read it. But when it's a book or a fanfiction, nothing. I just grin and continue reading.
People are like "lol wut are you reading?" and I smile and say "Nothing."

For reading, no, I don't get embarrassed, unless there's people reading along with me over my shoulder. Especially if it's my own work (although to date I haven't let anyone at all read anything Pg13+). Mind you, my mum and sis know the kind of stuff I read and don't look at my monitor very much anymore.
But then multiple times I've watched graphic live-action gay sex scenes with family, and not felt odd at all. Maybe it's the whole literature aspect. I've always found literature far more of something to be enjoyed in private than live action. Or maybe it's because a movie is usually one that my family chooses to watch because it's popular, whereas the things I read are usually fanfiction. It's probably never crossed their minds to consider whichever two+ characters in a relationship, because they see the plot of the book/movie as final, and the relationships therein set in stone. /offtopic
Oh, but I used to get embarrassed enough that I'd close the browser, even if no one was home. Mind you, I was in my tweens at the time, and probably not mature enough to handle the kind of stuff I read. I'd even print it off, and then shred it later because I was worried that someone would find it. Same thing with writing. I'd write down an idea for/premise for/a story, and then rip it up. Good thing that I don't do that anymore. It was a terrible waste of paper.

I used to be. (I'm 13 as well.) But at this point I will seriously be like.. "This isn't detailed enough!" and pick out a different one.
