Hi, I'm Star. Sounds very do-able! That's just over 1lb a week, so it's not too bad at all!
The more important question is what you're planning to do to lose the weight. Remember to NOT under-eat! Aim for 1200++ calories a day, but it's the quality of those calories that count!
If I were you, I'd start a journal in the sub-forum to help keep track of diet/exercise and to receive and give encouragement to fellow losers. :D

That's a completely do able goal. Remember that you'll have good weeks and bad weeks and don't set sight of that goal relentlessly. You might add in to be able to do a certain fitness thing. My goal is to be able to ride to see my parents by octoberish. (that's 100+Km) So I'm actually training now.
I feel that if you pick a fitness goal and keep your eating in line (depending on your fitness level (if it's very highish) 2200 calories a day is an excellent diet, if it's lowish, 1850 calories per day is a good diet. If it's nonexistant, I wouldn't go lower than 1700, however this is all my calculations for my height.
Check out your BMR. This one tells you how many calories you should eat to lose weight. http://www.tlbc.ca/blog/index.php/bmr-calculator/
Also check out Fat2fit radio, you can download it on iTunes or other podcatchers.
