I really want a treadmill, but I'm kinda lost about which kind to get...

I need one preferably under 500 dollars, but is still a high-quality machine.

Any recommendations?

I can't afford anything of the like.

Do you run on the tread mills at the gym? How sure are you that you would use it if it were in your house?

When I can make it to the gym, yes. It's my favorite machine.

We had one like three years ago that I used almost every day, but it broke.

For running you need at least a 60 inch belt, and the cheapest I've seen for a 60 inch recently was $1200.

Craigslist.com has plenty of used ones for cheap if you have the means to pick it up from the seller.

I got one from Sears for about $400 and I don't use it as much as I should (woe) but it's a very good machine. As long as it makes the ground under you move, it's effective in my eyes. I walk/jog lightly on mine though as I have asthma.
