Getting poetry published

Does anyone know anything about getting poetry published? I'd love to take a collection of my poems and turn them into a book. Do any of you recommend a particular publisher to deal with for poetry? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I don't have enough money for an agent, so I'd basically be on my own with all of your support! Thank you everyone!

I'd say that before going for a book of all your own poetry, go for magazines and anthologies first. You need to get your name out there first or no one will buy a full book of yours. Books of poetry are not like novels in the publishing game, there is hardly any market for them, and so competion is fierce.

Get into a reputable magazine and then go from there.
