Welcome to the Hogwarts Staff Room!
This is where TEACHERS, not students, come to take a break and discuss their various problems or solutions that they have discovered in their experience teaching. Students may post here if they have a question about applying to teach or have a question directed to the teaching staff in general, but are not allowed to loiter about here. Students caught doing this will be warned; repeat offenders will have house points deducted. House Elves are not, generally, allowed to post here either; although there have been instances when they may come in to clean occasionally.

What makes a good teacher?
- Posting Weekly Assignments (or at least 3 per term)
Having Assignments available for at least 1 week to accommodate students who can't get online everyday
Giving Quizzes, Tests, Finals, Mid-terms, etc..
Awarding house points (see quote below for point rewarding rules)
Keeping a student list with the students separated into their houses, class points list, and a a form on how to join.
Teachers are not required to post in House Colors in their classrooms, and may change the rules of font colors in their own classroom thread as needed.
If you can do all this, you're good to go!

Until further notice, the point system for Classes this term is as follows:
For each lesson: up to 10 Points for Homework/Classwork and Extra Credit can be worth up to 5 points
Finals can be worth up to 20 points.
If someone does not do their work, and you want to deduct house points, you can only deduct half of the points they would've earned. For instance, if an assignment is 10 points, you cannot deduct more than 5 points if they didn't do their assignment.
