Not that it really matters but I've always been wondering:

I take a daily vitamin pack called Maximin Pack Maximum Strength for Men and Women. It's from Nature Made. After reading the box (I read everything on anything I take in or use...it's an odd habit) I realized there are 5 calories in the vitamins I'm taking. Now, 5 calories is nothing, easily burnt off, no biggy. My question here is, though, where are these calories coming from?

The pack contains one of each of the following:

Balanced B-100 Timed Release
Vitamin C 1,000 mg with Rose Hips
Vitamin E 1,000 IU
Calcium 500 mg
Vitamin A & Vitamin D (it's one pill)
Multivitamin/Multimineral with Lutein

maybe its from the coating they use? perhaps they use a sugar coating on the pills to make them smoother/more palitable? or may be its from whatever they use to make the stuff the pills are made of stick together?

Ah, ok. Thanks. =]

Although, I must say, they're anything but palatable gonk I take them with diet coke to avoid getting sick.
But, I'm guessing it may be the capsule for the vitamin E. It looks like this:

I'm just guessing ^_^ It should say somewhere on the pack what each one actually contains i think. The vitamin E does look like a culprit, but i dont know xD

It's from the Vitamin E, I believe.
Vitamin E is primarily an oil (good for you!) and oil is fat. The small amount really doesn't matter but yes, it's a mix of the Vitamin E and also the fact that they "dilute" the vitamins in corn-starch like material to form the pill which has minimal calories as well.

I take two gummy bear vitamins daily, which also comes about to five calories. Mine probably comes from the sugar, though it might be something in how the vitamins are processed or something.
