Hey there everyone, I'm here because I would like to lose weight (obviously). I used to complain about how I've always been a little chubby and could lose some weight (hence the title), but now, I want to do something about it. I want to lose that weight, so that I won't complain about it. I want to be happy when I go swimming in that bikini and feel confident in my clothing. So, here's to starting a new lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise!

I'll keep you my dirty little secret...

Before I begin, I am known as KaiYin. I am 5'3" and I currently weigh 140 pounds. I weighed about 147 pounds before I started this diet, and have been exercising since August. Exercising wasn't a huge problem in the summer, since I had the time to exercise almost every day. Now that school has started though, I have a big problem: procrastination. I keep putting off my homework and therefore "don't have time" to go to the gym. I'm working on trying to make this better, though!

As for my diet, I have a difficult time sticking to healthy foods. My main problem is that I love carbs. Cookies, cakes, pastries, doughnuts, anything that has to do with carbs, I love. I've been doing my best to eat healthy carbs, like whole grain bread and cereals, but the school cafeteria is so tempting with its fresh baked cookies and pastries. I know that I have to stick to a diet if I want to lose weight at a rate faster than I currently am though.

I'll keep you my dirty little secret...

So, why is it that I want to lose weight, aside from the reasons listed above? I tend to gain weight evenly all over my body, so I hide my chubbiness under my clothes, and most people assume that I'm average weight. I thought that I was average weight until I realized how skinny the other girls were. To top it off, I am Asian, and all the other Asian girls were much thinner than me. Why? Because they didn't eat a ton of food like I did. I remember coming to school with lunch, eating it, and then buying lunch on top of that! I forced myself to learn that just because I could eat more doesn't mean that I should.

I discovered that I was mixing up the feeling of hunger with the feeling of thirst. When I drank more water, I ate less, and felt better. Water became my best friend.

Patting greasy foods was also something I had never thought of. I learned from a thread in the LD that by using a napkin to pat the excess oil of oily foods like pizza, fries and burger patties, I could save on calories that I didn't taste very much anyway. Plus, who knew that vegetables were so low in calories? I sure didn't. I began eating more carrots, beans and celery instead of cookies and chips. (Although I still eat quite a lot of cookies ... sweatdrop ) Then there was yogurt. I used to love eating ice cream, but when I saw how delicious yogurt was at a much lower calorie amount, I switched over immediately.

Realizing how high in calories some food were, I managed to almost completely give up chocolate, candy, burgers and chips. I still struggle at not eating fries, cookies, cake, doughnuts and pastries, but I try to eat them in moderation, instead of eating a lot of them.

So, the basics now. c:

Current Weight: 138 pounds.
Measurements: Bust=36"/ Waist=29.5"/ Hips=35"

Ultimate Goal Weight: 115-120 pounds.
Current Goal Weight: 135 pounds. (As of 11/30/2009)

Self-Reminders:
- Stop eating all those cookies!
- Stop buying extra food from the school cafe.
- Manage my time with homework first, so that I have time for the gym.
- Try to work out at least 3-4 times a week.
- Eat your veggies! D<

12/01/2009!

So far, I've eaten:

- About 1 cup Special K five grains cereal + milk
- About 1 1/2 cup of baby carrots
- A ham and cheese sandwich with two slices of whole grain toast + a small piece of oatmeal chocolate chip cookie
- An apple.
- A bowl of fruit (About 3 cups)

Dinner looks like:

- 1 cup of white rice + stir-fried beans + 1 cup soy milk.

As long as I don't eat any junk, it should be a good day. Hopefully, I manage to get to the gym today. : D
I also managed to stay away from buying a croissant at Tim Hortons (I had the biggest craving for some empty calorie carbs!), so I'm pretty proud of myself. c: I can do this!

UPDATE: Okay, so I didn't go to the gym, but I did do two ten minute cardio jump rope exercise videos, so I think I'm okay. All in all, it wasn't a bad day.

After the short workout, I ate:

- One clementine + 2 cashews.

12/02/2009!

So far, it's hasn't been the greatest day. I've eaten:

- About 1 cup of Special K cereal + soy milk
- About 1 1/2 cup of baby carrots
- Around 1 cup of white rice + 1 cup cooked green beans + around 8 fries.
- One apple
- A cherry cruller (the thing was huge! D; ) <-- Must remember not to do that!

I think we're eating sandwiches for dinner. I really do need to get to the gym later today.

LATER: I didn't go to the gym yet again because I remembered the math test that I had the next day. Then I ate about half a package of wafer bars, and about five mini chocolate bars. This is what's keeping me from losing weight; I've got to learn to control my cravings!

12/03/2009!

Today hasn't been bad, but it's hasn't been good. So far, I've eaten:

- About 1 cup Special K cereal + soy milk (see the pattern? xD)
- About 1 1/2 cup baby carrots
- One Special K bar
- One apple
- About six wafer bars (so around 225 calories worth)
- One ham and cheese sandwich on two slices of whole grain bread
- One bowl of white rice + green beans + potatoes + one glass of orange juice

And now, I AM going to the gym. I don't have anything to do tonight, so I don't have any excuses. TO THE GYM!!

LATER: I did end up going to the gym. I ran for 18 minutes on the treadmill, did 15 minutes on the cross-trainer and then did about 45 minutes of weight training. c: After that, I ate a clementine.

12/04/2009!

Today has been a good day, although that's only until dinner. D; So far, my diet today has been:

- About 1 cup Special K cereal (I love this stuff!) + soy milk
- About 1 1/2 cup baby carrots
- One apple
- About 1 cup white rice + small amount of potatoes + green beans
- A bowl of fruit
- 2 wafer bars

Dinner looks like fried chicken + rice. Fried chicken is a calorie overload, but it tastes so good. <3

To the gym again tonight, I suppose.

LATER: Okay, so for dinner, I had:
- 1/2 cup of white rice + two pieces of fried chicken + celery

The gym workout was pretty quick, with 18 minutes on the treadmill and about 20 minutes of weight training.

Now that I think about it, the real reason I want to lose weight is to look good for prom. I've been pretty excited about this event for a while, and if I can lose weight and look good for it, it would be even better. Now, I realize that I'm not 'fat' (my BMI is 24.8 ), but I definitely could stand to lose some weight.

So, today's eating schedule! I ate:

- About 1 1/2 cup Special K cereal + soy milk
- 4 wafer bars ( 150 calories worth)
- A salad (romaine lettuce + carrots + tomato + 1 tbsp coleslaw dressing)
- About 1 potato
- 1 bowl of fruit (About three cups)
- 1 bowl of pasta (about 2 cups) + one cupcake

Everything hurts from the gym, so I'm resting today, and getting my painting done. c:

12/06/2009!

NOT a good day. My stomach hurts from overeating! gonk Anyway, today I ate:

- About 1 cup Special K cereal + soy milk
- Two slices of rye toast + one pancake
- One bowl of fruit (about three cups)

Then my family went to a restaurant for dinner to celebrate my grandma's birthday. There I ate:

- 2 1/2 cups of fried rice + 3 cups of noodles + 4 bowls of dessert + 5 small pieces of cake.

NOT GOOD. Got to work it off tomorrow. Once in a while is okay I suppose, but I still need to control myself!

Today isn't the greatest either, but I'll at least get to the gym tonight. So far I've eaten:

- About 1 cup Special K cereal
- One apple
- About 1 1/2 cup baby carrots
- One cupcake
- About 2 cups of pasta + tomato sauce
- Half an oatmeal cookie
- One big bowl of fruit (about three cups)

And dinner looks like its going to be:

- One sandwich (egg + ham + lettuce) on whole grain bread + soy milk soup (turns out mommy made some c: )

LATER: So, I did end up going to the gym. Overall, my workout went:

- 18 minutes on the treadmill + 15 minutes on the cross-trainer
- About 45 minutes of weight training + 15 minutes stretching

Today, my eating schedule has been good so far. (I need to make every day like this! -brofist- ) So far I've eaten:

- About 1 cup Special K cereal + soy milk
- About 2 cups of baby carrots
- A ham and cheese sandwich on two slices of whole grain bread
- One apple
- A small container of yogurt + 3 cashews
- One bowl of fruit (about 2 cups)

Dinner looks like it's going to be rice with beans and carrots.

LATER: I was right about dinner. Although my eating habits took a turn for the worst today...

- About 1 cup white rice + beans + carrots + orange juice
- Three little chocolate bars (like the Halloween sized snack ones)
- Half a package of wafer bars (about 400 calories worth)

So, today has been an okay day so far. My diet has consisted of:

- About 1 cup Special K cereal
- One apple
- About 2 cups of baby carrots
- About 1 cup of rice + green beans
- Six wafer bars (about 300 calories)

I still have fruit to eat and dinner looks like Campbell's soup. I'll try to get to the gym tonight, but I've got a test tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll have time.

LATER: Okay, so after this, I ate:

- About three cups of fruit
- About 2 cups of Campbell's Prime Rib and Vegetable soup (about 300 calories and an overload of sodium) + one slice of whole grain bread + red peppers.

Don't think that I can make it to the gym today. Hopefully, I will tomorrow.

So, today I ate:

- 3 chocolate chip pancakes
- One apple
- About 2 cups baby carrots + about 1 cup green beans
- One package of 100 calorie popcorn
- One bowl of fruit (about 3 cups)

I think dinner is rice with vegetables.
