I have a question on what being Gay really means.

Okay the following opinions are of my friends, and in no way my own.
(Just wanting to clear that and here I go)

So the topic of my sexuality came up...again,and they told me that the only reason that gay people (both men and women) are that way is that they like having sex with the same gender as them.

I found that to be a little odd, since well I might be gay,and I'm in no way sexuality active person. So that got me thinking. What does it mean to be Gay.

So that the story, please make a conscious effort to rant on about my friends in your post, if that's going to bet he only thing you post. But put your opinion in as well.

Well I think gay means that you're emotionally and physically attracted to someone of the same gender and it's mainly more than just physical..

In the ultra-traditional sense, gay means happy.
But then the definition started to move to homosexual around the 1930's or 60's.
Pretty much, 'gay' is being emotionally and physically attracted to someone of the same gender, from whatever aspect the attraction was started. It being purely physical isn't the case at all.

Well gay is happy.

But, that aside, I don't know much on the topic. I know there is:

Homosexual - so... liking to be sexually involved with the same sex
& Homoromantic - only romantic relationships.

I think you have to like both to be legit gay. It should be emotional and physical to be totally gay. If it's just one or the other... I'm not sure o_O

Does it really matter? People should just be in romantic relationships/have sex with whoever they want to. Labels don't matter unless your signing up for a dating website.
