Well, original emo is long gone and such things are not even worth explaining. New emo is mainly about semi-mainstream music, tight jeans, and being a complete conformist, while thinking otherwise. Wow, sorry I totally just dissed out your whole guild here Relik. xD
Nah, just kidding. Just like goth, punk, even prep. There's a million different answers to such questions. EmoPop music is often now noticed as actual emo music, which is not true at all. So, as Emo and New Wave Emo are completely different, and to go even further -- opinions on both -- it is impossible to even try and explain this.

I got a easy way, there is no Emo pop or New Wave Emo. There is Emo and it's rare to find a band that still is today. Jazz is still Jazz and Emo is still Emo, not power pop, pop rock or post hardcore like people like to think.
Seriously no need for a thread like this when the main page tells you to not bring it up.
