---------------------------------
Both players must post their own battlefield at the start of the match as their first comment. Do NOT keep posting the battlefield setup, the rest of your posts will be actions. However, every time when you do something, please edit your battlefield and make sure you are in the right phase. To see what phase you are currently in (or want to be in), please bold in the phase you are currently in. Make sure you keep UPDATING your battlefield.

Playing:
Both players text out that given Battlefield code and post them as their first comment. PLEASE, do not post more than 1 of your own Battlefield. Post it only once.

When your opponent have cards out, you can only make 1 phase or action (whether it is Draw Phase, Standby Phase, Main Phase, Battle Phase, or End Phase). The reason is because you need to give your opponent a chance to do something during your turn like activating cards such as Trap Cards or Monster Cards' Effects. When you summon a monster, play a card, or declare an attack, you cannot do anything else yet during your turn because it wouldn't be fair for your opponent. This rule is ignored if your opponent have no cards on the field to use during your turn (unless if he/she have "Kuriboh" or something with similar effect type in his/her hand).

This playing method of mine that I thought it will take patience because dueling like this takes longer than dueling normally through PM or chat but it will keep things more descriptive.

Card Style/Battle Positions:
When playing with monsters, here is how you should make the monster card to be:
Monster Card [ATTRIBUTE; #*; Type/Kind (if not Normal) ??? ATK/??? DEF]
As for Spells and Trap cards:
Spell/Trap Card [SPELL or TRAP; Class]

Example
Relinquished [DARK; 1*; Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect; 0 ATK/0 DEF]
Spellbinding Circle [TRAP; Continous]
Dark Hole [SPELL; Normal]
Susa Soldier [EARTH; 4*; Thunder/Spirit; 2000 ATK/1600 DEF]
Also, to determine a monster's Battle Position, change the color of the card to be RED for ATTACK POSITION and BLUE for DEFENSE POSITION.

Face-Down/Hidden Cards:
To make sure that your opponent doesn't see your cards (whether you have face-down cards, Fusion Monsters in Fusion Deck, and/or your Hand), make sure you set the font size to be 0.
[size=0]Hidden Card[/size]

Oh yeah, you can't see your own cards either. However, you can always go and check out your face-down cards by going to "Quote" or "Edit" on your battlefield post.
NOTE: You are NOT allowed to do that to your opponent's battlefield. That is considered "cheating" if you do. If you get caught or get suspected, you will be disqualified. Also, you are not allowed to copy/paste tiny text onto something to see your opponent's face-down cards either.
Example
Magician of Faith [LIGHT; 2*; Spellcaster/Effect; 300 ATK/400 DEF]
Here is what the quote said as code:
[size=0]Magician of Faith [LIGHT; 2*; Spellcaster/Effect; 300 ATK/400 DEF][/size]

Actions:
While both players only can post 1 battlefield as their first post. After both people have their battlefields on spotlight, they can post new comments on what they will be doing. NOTE: You must know when you are doing it so here is the code YOU must first put in your comment before doing any actions:
[b](Player's) Turn #, ??? Phase:[/b]
Then post out what you will be doing. Just remember, if your opponent have any cards (like Trap Cards), keep your post close to a 1 action limit to let your opponent to do something. If your opponent doesn't do anything within 1 day, then he forfeits his chance and you can continue making your move without your opponent to react until he does. For turns, post out the number of YOUR turn your currently on.
Example
Your Turn 3, Main Phase 1: I place 2 cards face-down and a monster in defense position.

Opponent Turn 3, Battle Phase: I active the Trap Card, "Mirror Force", which is activated when you declare an attack. This card will destroy all of your monsters in face-up attack position.

Here is an example of that but chronologically (normal):
Example
Player 1
Your Turn 3, Draw Phase: I draw a card.
Player 2
Opponent's Turn 3, Draw Phase: Does nothing.
Player 1
Your Turn 3, Standby Phase: Do nothing.
Player 2
Opponent's Turn 3, Standby Phase: I activate the Trap Card, "Jar of Green", which allows me to draw 1 card.
Player 1
Your Turn 3, Main Phase 1: I place 2 cards face-down and a monster in face-down defense position.
Player 2
Opponent's Turn 3, Main Phase 1: Does nothing.
Player 1
Your Turn 3, End Phase: Does nothing.
Player 2
Opponent's Turn 3, End Phase: Does nothing.
Your Turn 3, Draw Phase: I draw a card.
Player 1
Opponent's Turn 3, Draw Phase: I activate the Trap Card, "Gift of the Mystical Elf", which increases my Life Points by 300 points for each monster on the field.
Player 2
Your Turn 3, Standby Phase: Does nothing.
Player 1
Opponent's Turn 3, Standby Phase: Does nothing.
Player 2
Your Turn 3, Main Phase 1: I summon "Spear Dragon".
Player 1
Opponent's Turn 3, Main Phase 1: Does nothing.
Player 2
Your Turn 3, Battle Phase: I attack your face-down monster with "Spear Dragon"
Player 1
Opponent's Turn 3, Battle Phase: I active the Trap Card, "Mirror Force", which is activated when you declare an attack. This card will destroy all of your monsters in face-up attack position.

Also, if your opponent plays an Effect Monster, Spell, or Trap Card that you don't know, use the same code during his/her turn and ask your opponent what the card does. Or better yet, don't ask and just search for the card on www.yugioh.wikia.com.

Anata wa watashi ga zutto mae ni "sayounara" to yutta hito wo omoidasaseru.

Not too shabby, kid.

It'd definitely be easier than keeping track of things over IM.
You remind me of someone I said goodbye to a long time ago.

HOWEVER!!!! My method have two flaws:
1) There is a "cheating" method by looking at your opponent's face-down cards by "Quote". Either that or copy/paste the "Tiny" text into something to read the face-down card or card in hand.
2) Dueling will take A LOT LONGER than normal.

With a few changes this method could work quickly and efficiently. If you duelled over IM and then posted your moves afterwards with this format you could duel quickly and keep track of the duel. Most duels are quick enough not to need this format but more complex duels could use this. It also allows everyone else to watch.

I already made a few chances like monster battle positions. I know that my idea will take a lot longer than usual to duel but it will make things more fair.

And my idea can have an audience to watch.

Also, there is no way how I can chance the weaknesses of my method:
- To prevent your opponent from seeing your face-down cards using the Quote Button
- To increase the dueling speed.

You can stop your opponent from seeing your set cards by calling them set cards. You can increase the speed by duelling over messenger and then posting your moves after you make them, step by step.
