Hm, I'm not usually fussed enough to go buying my way up any ladders. If I care for an item I'll buy it, if I'm given an item, then I'll keep it.

My items are bought after vague consideration, or very gratefully recieved from friends. They have vaue because of that, but if I were to actually pay real money for them then I'd feel perhaps that I were making a step toward taking the game to seriously in comparison with the importance of the people who populate it.

Because it would feel like a waste of money that you could spend on something better or donate to charity or something.
I also feel guilt for not donating but I think the donating guilt would probably be worse. xd

I'm disappointed I never got a PM saying how great I am and how it is people like me who keep the Gaia-admin from living as tramps.

I donated to gaia once over the summer, got a couple of envelopes out of it, helped keep the site up and running but it wasn't all that special. If I had a regular job that paid well I suppose I could think about donating regularly, but I'd rather spend my hard-earned cash on music cds or console-based entertainment.
