Getting new music

Basically, how do you usually get new music to listen to? How do you hear about "new" bands?
Friends?
The radio?

My music either comes from my friends (which is actually a pretty low percentage of my tastes); randomly stumbling upon bands, songs, or lyrics (which is what makes up the majority of my music collection)... I include AMVs or random YouTube clicking and such in this; or Wikipedia genre searches when I'm looking for something new in a specific genre.

I find new music by looking up the influences of my favorite bands/players and look up who plays on their CD(the studio musicians) and find other CDs they play on. I also read play autobiographies and look up music they mention and listen to Pandora.

I usually use Youtube and iTunes. Youtube has been helping me a lot though!

I listen to a variety of radio stations but I also hear a lot of new music simply by going to little coffee houses and what not..I also ready Rolling Stone Magazine and if the band or their cd is rated fairly well I will look them up and check out their music.

With the occasional reference from a friend or something I liked on a music video.

I usually look around on last.fm or most recently, thesixtyone.com There are alot of unknown artists to be found, I like going around to random genres and just listening to artists, even if it's a genre I don't normally listen to. Sometimes it even helps me to come up with new musical ideas for my own composition!

I usually either hear new music on the radio or on the television when I'm alone and need some background noise. But ocassionally I will hear of it from friends.
