"Prayer of a Broken and Humble Heart"
Dear God, it’s been a while I hope seeking you out makes you smile. Lord, I feel really guilty for my sin Unfortunately, it’s something to which I’ve grown akin I know you will always forgive me Even though I’m unworthy of your mercy. There’s so much more about you I wish to understand But all I need to know is that I’d die without your hand. Please, My God, forgive me for not speaking about your Son Anoint my spirit to speak openly of what His ministry has begun. And, God, bless Jeff over from Pima Street; Show him Your vision, guide his feet. Protect him with thorns and cherubim Even more so until his ministry begins. My God, I’m addicted to learning Your words Like that You take care of the flowers and the birds. And that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life Who was made to suffer in subordinating strife. Jesus, I miss you, but You need to move on for a season Because I need to get over this treason. Bless Debbie Strayhorn, my good friend, too Lord, in her, let Your Spirit stew And anoint her lips to prophesy for Your side And through her, open countless more eyes. God take her to incredible places Where she’s threatened by death and maces So You can shine through And people can not deny that they knew That Your presence fell upon them and they were in fear Because Your intent was dangerously clear… In all ways, I am a child of the King And forever may His hallelujahs ring From the East to the West Only His saints can attest That invisible equals might And nothing escapes His sight Whether in the arms of death Or lying in the depths, I know the prowling barracuda Will be destroyed by My Lion of Judah.
