...and the yaoi/yuri subject came up. I'll spare you the details since they are long and drawn out but this is her perspective:

(M=Male F=Female Ani=animated. manga, anime etc.)

M/M IRL - Not so hot
M/M ANI - yay hot

F/F IRL - yay hot
F/F ANI - not so hot

Is it just me or is she a bit weird? I could understand a bit more if it was "ANI=yay hot" for both but shes just not making any sense... can anyone offer some insight? Or do you know a friend who is like this?

it may be the way the females are portrayed in most animes--young, not very woman-like, more teen-like. You could show her some of the more old school stuff like Dirty Pair or some Ghost in a Shell Doujinshi (pre-2000).

Or maybe she just likes women. She could be a lesbian...and this is her way of telling you or testing the waters of how okay you are with that.

I can *kinda* relate.

I don't like watching people making out, in TV or real life. When two people start making out in front of me, I have a tendency to distract myself with something else or just walk away. And this applies to any and every couple.. ;;;

But I'm the complete opposite with anime and manga.... even I think it's weird. ( >.> )

The same goes for gore too, so I dunno... maybe it has to do with the fact that it's not real? *shrugs*

I don't agree with the M/M. I think guy on guy is just as hot in real life as it is in anime/manga. But I do agree with the F/F. I think girl on girl is hotter in general in real life then in anime/manga.

Probably because in anime, they tend to overexaggerate women's breasts. I'm sorry, but if I'm looking at F/F anime, they need to be PROPORTIONAL women, not chicks with 12-ton boobs. They also tend to do that with penises in hetero hentai, from what I've seen (and dear God, I regret seeing it). Just the memories of those makes me feel ill.

I totally get off on two guys making out. Like, RL guys. Anime guys, too. But anything but kissing for RL guys just makes me laugh. All the parts flop everywhere and makes slapping sounds and I'm just like rofl rofl rofl .

I prefer anime girls to real ones. Mostly the real girl/girl action consists of dumb bleached blonds with fake tans rubbing their tongues together. That's not kissing. Those aren't real girls. :/ Some yuri is with the girls with like, HUUUGE tatas, but I like the kind with the cuter high school age girls who are all sweet and stuff. That doesn't really exist in RL girl/girl. :/

I see you've cleared your issue up, but ... I'll post anyway 8D;;

I used to feel the opposite of the way I do now; today I would much rather watch a RL guy/guy-themed movie than anime. I just like it to be realistic, I suppose. I don't watch porn or anything, though; the most graphic M/M thing I've ever seen was No Night is Too Long and it wasn't EXTREMELY explicit >__>
And Brokeback Mountain happens to be one of my favorite movies EVER. After watching that one, -and- No Night, -and- a few episodes of Torchwood, I've preferred real life over anime ever since.

I suppose the emotion is more raw and identifiable with RL movies/photos? I'm an actress myself, so I love good acting in romantic scenes, and I would rather see that than anime-style. (I mean, voice acting is tough too, but that's a little beside the point :B) I used to think that anime-style art was much prettier than real human beings, but I'm not as big on that anymore.

I can't really speak for yuri because I actually haven't watched any yuri anime or movies -- I'm just not as into it, no offense to anyone of course.

... Weeell, there was Maureen/Joanne in RENT ... but that was RL acting so I guess it further shows my point of view @@;;

Like personally, I think M/M in both real life and anime are hot but not for F/F.
Its kinda like how guys are like "ohmygodlesbiansmakingout" sorta thing. But there are some cases where girls get turned on by watching other girls :/
so I dont think that your friend is wierd, just has a diffrent taste smile
