Invictus_88 Hm, I'm alright if that is the wish of the GBG members. Though my only concern is that by removing the Political threads from the main forum me might risk losing the atmosphere of "Extended Discussion" (albeit a little bit louche and a bit anarchic, like a dusty old colonel of cavalry, in a Parisian brothel, drinking absinthe from a glass, whilst discussing the pressing issues of the day with a struck-off Oxford don, both eating yoghurt) that gives this Guild a higher-minded atmosphere than the UK Guild and a tradition in the old ExED British Stereotypes thread.
Still, if you guys think that's not a factor, or that it's a factor outweighed by the benefits brought by a politics subforum, then I shall go ahead and form it.
I think that the regulars of this guild are going to continue to make sure that the "higher minded amostphere" is going to stay as such. I don't think that you have to really have politics in the main guild forum in order to keep it like that because it's up to the members as well as the crew to keep it that way. Look at the ED: Politics forum, it's started to lose that "higher minded atmostphere" even since I've been here. (I have been paying attention to that forum and have even posted there on occasion.) If we continue to screen members like we have been doing, then I don't see us losing that and if it does happen... Well, I'll at least I'll make sure to oust anyone who starts to act stupid, because I'm not afraid to offend anyone. wink At any rate, I believe it's a good idea. Perhaps we can actually start some more discussion on politics. That's what I'd like to see, and I believe that the sub-forum will encourage it. Where as keeping them afloat in the main forum makes it so that people lose track of the thread.
