I flip you around, smash you down
So you cannot see
Yet you still reflect, yet you still reflect

I do not wish for harsh daylight to come into our eyes
That would be the end of us, I hope you know
I hope you know

I turned away, turned you around
So I could not see
What stared back, what stared back at me

Musty smells and footprints, all come into view
When I do not look
Do not look at you

Spiderwebs are cracking, across the dark night sky
Stars burst forth and forward
Light into our eyes

I turned you around, smashed you down
Why do you still see?
Why do you still watch, when all there is
Is me?

Starlight bright, shining now
Till I cannot see
Wrong, the end is nearing now
the lights were all along

There before I saw them
All I saw was me
Reflected back, I smashed you down
I thought, I thought to be

I absolutely love your use of repetition here, it's very nicely done. Is your use of both past and present tense intentional?
