YO!

I'm back... again, to terrorise you all.

So to stop this becoming a paradoxically spam based thread.

Thoughts on my return and thoughts on gothic representation within popular culture particularly imagery with in childrens media (NBC, Corpse Bride, Coraline etc.)

Haha! I've seen yoo before.

"Goth" imagery in children's cartoons, to an extent, has always been around. Goth in children's media, period, has always been around. For every happy-go-lucky cartoon, book, or comic, there's always been a "beware, look at the spooky things" complement.

I mean, look at Grimm's Fairy Tales. Those could be considered "Goth" and were regularly told to children. We have a macabre tale for any happy-ending tale, to keep that contrast going.

This isn't anything new. Actually, in the past 5-10 years, we'd experienced a tad more censoring than needed for children's cinema and television.. Now it's starting to open back up.

Ahh!! Real Monsters. I remember that. <33

Also, one could also say that the camp-quality horror that comprises a fair share of "gothy" things also makes them perfect for children. Camp-scary isn't really scary, just spooky. And that's great for kids. XD
