Or the mod is friends with the whiner... I've seen that happen, too - some users harass others and then report to their friend when they get smacked back... Doesn't say much about some of the mods xp

True, but let the incident go, you were warned and be happy they did ban you. Let's move on, forget about it, and try to more careful in the future.

I've seen a lot worse in the forums besides "up yours." I'm surprised some of the people are still allowed to be on Gaia. There's cursing, sexual talk, posting pics of others and insulting them. Saying what you said is G-Rated compared to the stuff that goes on there.

kids on gaia will report another just for not liking something they say, even if nothing directly offensive was said. Case in point, I once saw a girl report another girl because the other girl insisted that internet relationships were stupid. I don't believe she used any curse words or offensive slang, just said that she thought internet relationships were pointless and voiced her opinion as to why she thought that.
People seem to consider someone saying -anything- they don't like to be harassment and thus they feel justified in reporting "the offender". The mods probably also have some sort of obligation to follow up on reports, even if they are stupid.

You can't have a web forum without drama, but it seems like this forum is getting so big that it'll hit critical mass --meaning that eventually people will get tired of dealing with a mix of cliques+idiocy+mod abuses and they'll vote with their feet.
This won't be the first forum I've seen die, so cest le vie. (I think gaia will keep kicking for a while after it reaches critical mass)

Take what you can... No need to worry. Up yours is something you can't get warned for so the mod probably tossed away the report and warned the one that sent it xD ...Give nothing back

That is pretty dumb. Just be sure to learn from the experience and only go onto guilds (like me) so you don't have to worry about the dumb masses.

I don't understand the reasoning behind some of the mod decisions on Gaia. "Up yours" is not worthy of punishment, IMO. I also don't think that saying "fail" to someone should be either, especially since we have an item called "Epic Fail Hat."
I got a post deleted a couple of years ago that was not remotely offensive. Someone was complaining about how much they hated Gaia and I asked them in all seriousness why they didn't leave the website if they hated it so much. I wasn't being rude, just trying to understand why this person would stay on a website they didn't like. I got a very rude message from a mod a few hours later telling me that my post had been outright deleted - no polite message telling me that someone took my comment the wrong way or asking me not to post questions like that. I don't understand why I was targeted when I wasn't even being rude when I see hundreds of seriously malicious comments go unnoticed every day.
