Genesis 20:28 Now Noah, a man of the soil, was the first to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of the wine, he became drunk and lay naked inside his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness, and he told his two brothers outside about it. Shem and Japheth, however, took a robe, and holding it on their backs, they walked backward and covered their father's nakedness; since their faces were turned the other way, they did not see their father's nakedness. When Noah woke up from his drunkenness and learned what his youngest son had done to him, he said: "Cursed be Caanan! The lowest of slaves shall he be to his brothers."He also said: "Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! Let Canaan be his slave. May God expand Japheth, so that he dwells among the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave."
^Bad nudity.
There is Saul who along with the Prophets of his day went nude (1 Sam. 19:24) Isaiah walked around naked for 3 years as a sign to the people (Isa. 20:2,3) Peter wore only his birthday suit when he was fishing – nudity being the work clothes of choice (John 21:7) David danced before the Lord wearing nothing but a ‘revealing’ linen ephod (2 Sam. 6:14) The Apostle Paul and Barnabas get naked as they show their humanness to the townspeople of Lystra when they thought they were the Greek gods Hermes & Zeus (Acts 14:14).
^Good nudity.

zz1000zz Priestley What seperates the good nudity and bad nudity in your example, Xandris? I am not sure what that passage would have to do with "bad nudity." The only thing condemned in it are Ham's actions. Shem and Japeth made a great effort not to see Noah's nudity, but that does not mean the nudity was bad. More sensibly, they were respecting Noah by not viewing him naked when he had not chosen for them to do so. So it was more about saving Noah from the embarassment at being so drunk that he got naked?
zz1000zz Priestley Incidentally, didn't we have a thread a while back on the subject of nudity? No. There was a thread about "appropriate" clothing that did discuss nudity though. That's not the thread to which I was referring. The thread was from way before that, before you joined us.

Priestley Xandris Priestley What seperates the good nudity and bad nudity in your example, Xandris? That's what was up for discussion, along with whether or not it was indeed good/bad. But apparently Gaia didn't like that version of my post and just allowed the verses through. >.< It seems a bit heavy handed of Noah to have cursed his sons and the peoples that followed them just because Noah got too drunk to remember his clothes. xd
He was in his own tent, in privacy. He happened to be naked. Ham walked into Noah's private section, saw him naked, then went out and gossiped about it.
Noah being naked was never the problem.

What you have construed is gossip can also be construed as concern. The passage doesn't specify motive. Also, the passage mentions nakedness four times. If, indeed, Ham was cursed for gossipping, it certainly isn't relevant to this thread.
It makes more sense that Shem and Japheth were rewarded for their action towards their drunken father over their younger brother Ham's inaction.
