hey guys, i picked up some brake cleaner today. i couldnt remember if the guides online said brake fluid or brake cleaner, so i asked my dad and he agreed brake cleaner sounded more... "right" so i got home and started looking online for guides, they all say brake fluid =/ theres the odd one that mentions brake cleaner, but its at the most "i used brake cleaner hyuk hyuk"
so, does anyone know approx how long i should leave the models to soak? ive got a couple bits that im not using soaking right now, just put them in though

No idea of how break cleaner works tho' since I use break fluid...
But when I put them in I leave the bitz n models in for about 24 hours before I scrub them with an old toothbrush.

I use Acetone. Works like a charm... Though I might have to try brake whichever.

hey, i picked up some simple green ive got some stuff soaking, and has been soaking for about 30 hours or so now. a lightning claw a friend gave me is completely stripped, no paint left on it. A powerfist i threw in there has its paint taken off, but the primer isnt coming off, same with some Tau legs, and a..... thing.. lol, i dont know what to call it, its a piece that came with the stealthsuits.
so, does anyone know why my friends primer came off within 10 hours, yet ive got other stuff soaking for going on 35 hours (methinks) and nothings happening? does it have to soak longer? or is it just not going to work?

Sometimes you need to refresh your fluids after several hours, other times a gentle scrub with an old toothbrush seems to help.

When I strip my models I just leave them in nail polish remover for a few hours and then use a rotary tool with a metal brush..
Takes it all off in around 5 minutes.

I know this is gonna sound kinda wierd, but if you leave your models in rubbing alchohol over night in the freezer, the paint will flake off usually quite easy. For some reason, it doesen't work on the blue's at all.

An employee at my local gw says cola works wonders.Hwoever he also said he hasn'it tried it on plastic models.I wouldn't use it on plastic models if I were you.but I might try it on some of the metal ones.
