In my path, I feel I've stumbled onto something with the symbols I've been trying to create. I feel like there's something to this work with symbols, that within scripts I can work magic, create rites, describe and determine the world around me.
However, much of my path also deals with animism and spirits, things which are usually done (at least in the sources I've studied, and as described by Yasmine Galenorn in her awesome book Totem Maic) through experience, and these authors seem to eschew advanced symbology and cerebralism for more naturalistic primal methods.
I don't know what to do, because I do a bit of both. Is it possible to go deep into symbology and experiment to create a language of lines and shapes to work magic, while also turning to experiential and less strictured methods?
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this topic, as in generalities?
