Do gothic people have it harder at school than nerds?

To be honest, people are afraid of me, so they just talk about me behind my back. I pretend not to notice. And, I don't fit in, but I like not fitting in. xd Except, I once got an F on my report card, even when my test grades and stuff were As...

Well....my life is fairly less dramatic and angsty than many people make life out to be. I also don't project these dramatic situations onto my life to make it seem like it's more than it is.

I don't think I've ever gotten into any physical fights to defend my honour before, and "fitting in" never really meant anything to me. Actually, I don't really see the big deal of "fitting in" for people or being an "outcast". I've never really thought about school life like that at all. I know that "fitting in" is an issue for some people, like my sister, but I don't really understand it that well. *shrugs*

But to answer "do goths have a harder time than nerds", I wouldn't know. It depends who you are.

I get along with most people fairly well.
I made some great friends in high school, most pf which that don't follow goth culture the way I do.

It all depends on how you act and deal with things. Just ignore the people that give you problems and move on.
A big part of the problem is that most people outcast themselves. I've been to 3 different schools and managed to find my niche in all of them with great people who chose all sorts of different paths.

Then again, I'm not one of those guys who puts on all the make up and trench coat and all that. To be honest, black isn't even the color I wear most often.

Looking back...the two groups were kinda put together...not so much in the act of enduring redicule from others, more like not really giving two sh**s...and just going about their gothiness/nerdiness.

Being a nerd is more socially acceptable. At least teachers like you then.
Honestly though, unless you really care about steriotypes, being a nerd and being a Goth can be very similar. With my freinds we're all somewhere along the lines of nerdy social outcasts. Who really cares at that point? Point being that you don't care what people think of you and you arent trying to fit in with the social hieracrchy of your school. People who are trying to fit in will resent you for that no matter how you do it.
