Imperial guard inspiration

Hey everybody. Ive decided a few things lately about my 40k army.
1:Im converting to salamanders marines for a few reasons. Firstly, I love flamers and thunderhammers wich are upgraded with the new Salamander hero. Secondly, Forge father Vulkan, the new hero, looks awesome. Im converting him now. I should have pictures when I can get a decent camera.
2:I want to get asmall guard regiment to go with the hellhammer super heavy that I bought in impulse. I want a real army to inspire my guardsman and now im torn between UN Peacekeepers, and WWI german trench soilders. Please help my delima by posting. Send opinions about the two ideas, conversion/paint suggestins, or new ideas entirely.

I agree with Kaori

that and i just think that blue is an awesome color
and is very much preferable compared to dirty brown clothing, considering how many armies ive seen that are just brown and more brown.

I could see an army with uniforms like those in the Australian Army in WWII and such, if you're familiar with them.

How much money you want to spend?

Death Korps of Krieg will be high dollar.

UN could be just Cadians with a different color scheme.

Though, if I had the money, I'd snap up a DKoK in a heart beat.

Mm, jump to DKoK, but I would prefer Cadians with coats or catachan in drag [ ninja ].

I'd go for the german idea, stickbombs would look pretty cool on cadians all converted up.
