Lo' there and welcome to my little corner of gaia.
I am Squiggle or Squiggeh.
I'm a sculptor and I plan to go college for art.
I do some sketches but not near what I can do with clay.
I'm currently a highschool student but I've got big plans
instore for myself after highschool.

I've sold my art in the past and I'm ready to start again to
work on my school savings.
I am most comfortable with floral creations.
I don't currently have a shot of one,
but roses are my biggest comfort.
In the last few months I got into mimicking gaian items I thought
would pose a good challenge with their structures and detail.
What I love the most though, to attempt in art, whether it's a
sketch or a sculpture, are hands. I started drawing sketches of
my hands in various glove-types and positions throughout junior high
and with that, it helped me to structure a sculpture of it.

So that's a little about my art background and comforts within it.
Trudge on to see my current makings and my current goals.

Current Works in Progress:
I have none at the moment. I will be starting on a demonic imp
shortly, just to go with my angelic and gimpi ones I already have.

If any ideas of what I should create next, gaia or not, please feel free to let me know. Squiggeh likes a good challenge to art.

Finished Creations

Here are pieces I've done most recently:

Gaian Fan Art:
Angelic Imp:

Consists of: Aluminum Foil and tooth picks.

Herme's Moon Mochi

Consists of just clay. though it's really simplistic, the engravements in the ears, though the camera didn't get those in very well, were the focus I had on this one.

Kappa Plush

I put aluminum foil in the head of this one to keep it light weight and balanced. That was my main focus of this one.

Herme's Moon Mochi Bunny

My main focus for this little guy were as the first mochi was, the ears, and the body structure. I'm not as impressed with this one, to be honest. It could have been alot better and I may try to recreate it to see if I could get a better feel of it that time around. It has one toothpick up the center of it, so it would remain standing prior to baking it. The rest is clay.

Gimpi

This one is my favorite. I absolutely adore the detailing of it. This one has aluminum, toothpicks, and nails in it. What I mainly focused on this one was making the stitches on its face convincing. To make them appear as if they came from the inside of the gimpi itself. It was also good practice for painting. Painting is my weakest point in arts and this helps me to harness that weakness.

This was the first time I have ever bothered with making a hand, but I think it came out as good as it did strictly from drawing it for so long. I used just clay, but for conserving purposes and to see if it betters the structure, any future hands I will use more than just tooth picks through the wrist to support it. I'll most likely try aluminum inside to save clay and keep it lightweight. It helps me to learn to structure the foil with the clay, rather than the clay around the foil.

From the hand I've learned most from though. I think I may practice sketching out what I plan to create next before I actually create it. It seems to give me a better feel for what I want to bring to life.

My Goals:
I want to keep working on my hands, and see how they evolve.
I also want to work better on facial structures of people at sometime or another. That's my worst point of all. -shudders at thought-
I also plan to take an advanced taxonomy course in highschool next year and when I do, I plan to work on what I see there to better harness my skills. I'll most likely focus on vertibraes. They fascinate me. :3

Those are sooo cute! biggrin I would buy one if I could. The hand is beyond anything I can do with clay, yet I don't have that much experience with it except for my amazingly beginner mask I made that hangs on my wall because I came to love how I actually put my emotion into painting it. ^_^ The fingers could be a tad longer? Idk, just my thought.

Wow that is super amazing work right there! You are very talented!

For the Herme's moon maybe defining his feet and nose a little more may help.

I love the Hand! It's amazing! It looks like a child's hand, very well done, the only thing I see is I think the middle finger could be a tad bit longer. <3

The details on the gimpi are really well done, as well as the hand. The HAND'S details are my favorite. Smooth, unlined hands are a bit creepy to me, so I like that you added the proper creases. It seems the most realistic, though the palm seems to be a bit thick. Only a very TINY bit thick. The pad below the thumb was well done, that's not always easy to flesh out.

The bunny needs a bit more bunnying up. The hind legs need a little bit more definition.
