This world knows nothing but the eternity of light and dark. This world is dreaming, and those who live upon it know nothing but good or evil, black or white, light or dark. There are no shades of gray in this world. The people, in a trancelike life, watch the coming of the sun and the rising of the moon as the dark live under silver, the light live under gold. There are those who might waken a little and question their roots and venture into the other realm, be it black or white, but in the end all live under their chosen shade.

But now something is different.

The eclipse has come, shining for a single week once every hundred years, and the sun and the moon join to form a twilight that is not light, nor dark, but somewhere in between.
And this is when the ShiroKuro may be found.
The power that rises from a well that resides deep in the mountains, that rises to the pull of the eclipse.
Its very aura sends ripples through the land, and the people feel its call, and know that something has changed. Their latent powers now become what they meant to be under the half-light of the eclipse. Dreams merge with reality, the earth stirs, and the people, awakening from a half-sleep now truly see
that which is and meant to be.
The light now joins with the dark, and the people rise against an unspoken wall that stretches only when the sun and the moon are separate that keeps them to their own shade

• No killings… unless a character is inactive, then ask to make sure the person really is inactive…! Creatures created by characters are okay to kill.
• No neutralists people… sorry, but you gotta stick with black or white
• Go ahead and have affairs if you want biggrin even if the other person’s a different alignment. But keep it pg-13, no inappropriate stuff.
• Since the eclipse is only a week, don’t zip through the days XD

These are the classes available for characters in ShiroKuro;

Dreamweaver
Dreamweavers can be found commonly between both alignments. Those gifted with this specific power tend to sleep far longer than most, but are able to remember every single dream they have for the rest of their lives. This power is most effective under the eclipse, for Dreamweavers are then able to bring subjects of their dreams to life. If a Dreamweaver dreamed about a pack of wolves, say, then he or she would then be able to summon this pack of wolves into existence. Dreamweavers can use this power to some extent outside of the eclipse, but these summons are pale shadows compared to dreams summoned under the eclipse, not to mention the user would then have to sleep as long as their weavings existed in the material world. Only under the eclipse can they weave their summons to full power, and not have to recharge afterwards. Dreamweavers tend to look half-asleep at all times.

Stitcher
Stitching is a power most oriented with those aligned under dark, but a few cases have been found among those of the opposite alignment. Stitchers are able to manipulate shadows with their hands, as the shadow become substantial for those gifted with this power. Outside the eclipse, a Stitcher can only somewhat control the movement of shadows, more easily their own shadow, and alter it, but this process is extremely draining on a Stitcher’s energy. Under the eclipse, Stitchers can work with all shadows, and shadows form to become a sort of substance for them to work with. A common sign of a Stitcher is his or her’s own shadow, which is always altered to a different shape than normal.

Sun Dancer
Sun Dancing is a skill found only in those aligned with light. This skill allows the user to summon light streams wherever they might be, such as a glow in a dark place, and in some instances, as a weapon. A sudden searing of light might blind a foe, or a stream of blazing hot energy that burns anything it touches. Sun Dancers, true to the name, use this power via a sort of dance that lets them touch and/or summon light/energy. A Sun Dancer’s body absorbs light during the day, and their powers are limited to the amount of sun they collect during that day, or however much they might save before use. Outside of the eclipse, Sun Dancers can only summon/touch light during night, or in someplace with no light. During the eclipse, a Sun Dancer can use their power whenever they please, as long as they have enough light stored in their bodies to do so. A common trait in Sun Dancers is their tendency to glow faintly when they have a large amount of energy stored.

Invoker
More common among those aligned to black, but a few invokers live under the alignment of white. An Invoker’s talent lies in using true names/words of power that they are naturally born knowing. They are able to command people/objects/plants/animals by reciting these words, and making the target react in almost anyway they’d like. They can cause a sapling to suddenly accelerate its growth, for one reason, or cause the wind to bend into a shield around them. They can also make objects change their form and matter and become an entirely different thing. In the use of true names, they can bring a person/animal under temporary control by speaking the individual’s true name. In some ways, Invokers are more powerful than other classes. Outside the eclipse, mostly they are limited to matter shift, as anything stronger would kill them. Under the eclipse, they can change/command anything to do almost anything they order them too, as long as they know the correct names/words.

Bone Mage
Only those aligned with black inherit this skill, the most rarest of all. A Bone mage uses bones, transferring power into skeletons to reanimate them. Controlling the reanimated bones, Bone Mages can create loyal, undying servants, as the skeletons would be hard to kill again, unless they were completely obliterated by fire. Bone Mages can even create entirely new skeletons from different animal/human bones combined, as long as they know the exact place and function of every bone in the new skeleton. Outside of the eclipse, a Bone Mage can only animate complete skeletons, without a single missing bone, and know exactly what they were forming, and how they would move. Under the eclipse, however, it doesn’t matter if a skeleton is missing a bone or two, as long as it isn’t an important bone in the structure. The Bone Mage’s magic will simply fill in the gap with a magical substitute. A Bone Mage can also create a new, mixed skeleton only under the eclipse.

Twister
Twisters are most commonly found in the alignment of white, but may appear on the opposite side as well. They are naturally born with little to none eyesight, which acts as a measure of their power. Their powers allow them to see in another way, however. The skills of a Twister let them see the world on a different plane than others, though they are blinded on the plane others normally see at. Thus, they are able to notice things the naked eye would never see at all. And that is not the true extent. A Twister can mentally reach in and ‘twist’ the streams of fate and chance, and cause things to happen in our plane, such as twisting the fates so that an avalanche is suddenly triggered by the sudden falling of a stone set of by the landing of a bird. They can also use this skill to avoid harm, by making an attack foe suddenly slip and fall, for one. The less eyesight a Twister has in the normal plane, the stronger they can see in the other, and the stronger reactions they can create with fate and chance. Outside of the eclipse, Twisters see on the other plane, of course, but even the smallest twist of fate would exhaust them. Under the eclipse, they can use their powers to full extent. Twisters tend to wear blindfolds around their eyes in order to concentrate better on the other plane.

History: Blessed or cursed, Ariella was born on the “White” side under the Sun‘s watchful eye. That which has granted her the most beautiful of gifts. The power to use light, manifest and perhaps control at her own will. With this blessing or cursed she walks freely under the sun until it hides behind tall mountains depriving her of the pure, warm light forcing her to cower in fear within the shadows until the sun rises once again. Now with the eclipse, Ariella most over come her fear and venture into the dark days that await her…

Appearance: She has very green eyes framed by dark lashes. Her hair is a light honey brown. The whole thick mass is very choppy, with her bangs being anywhere between just touching her cheekbones to reaching her chin. Different bits and layers reach different lengths, with the longest touching her hips. Her body is sturdy, just short of stout, and curved enough to be obviously female. Her skin is very pale from living in the dark, though it isn't to the point of looking unhealthy. Wears simple lace-up bodices for the most part, dark trousers, and sandals

History: Most Dreamweavers dream about specific objects or beings and things happening. Mere always seemed to dream pieces of the same dream. Throughout the length of her memory, she usually dreams of following some sort of path. It showed itself as a sort of shimmering on the ground, or in one case even up a mountain, and not a real part of the landscape. The shimmering was also over certain things close to her or within easy eyesight, like a group of plants or a sign, some kind of recognizable landmark that was part of the land. In a lot of her dreams there were even other people, though the were rather hazy and distant, so she couldn't make them out. She was always drawn towards something that she couldn't name, but felt strongly about. And the strangest thing of all is that the world she appears in is in between the brightness of white and the darkness of black.

History: Where ever there is light, there is darkness. And, well, in the darkness the shadows emerge. One can say, that with this fact the light will never prevail for the sun casts shadows that help those that dwell within it. And within it, Seline strengthens her power to overcome light. Because without light, shadows remain, her only friends. She's not as matured or as elder as those that have ruled in the darkness before her, and because of this she hasn't mastered the art of patience, but anyone who saw her as she trained would agree that she is talented and strong. Training since she knew of her power she grew stronger in manipulating not only the shadows but the men around her with her flirtatious charm. The night of the first eclipse she found that her power had grown, and with this new knowledge she is now on the mission to overcome all that shines beneath the never ending sky.

Gailen paced in his studies, reading book after book on the eclipse, trying to figure out a way to use it to increase his knowledge. Setting down his current bookA Awakened State Gailen strode to the octagonal shaped window of his tower. Spying a baby mouse scampering about the barren and desolate grounds trying to avoid a hawk. Gailen called out the mouses proper name
"Peromyscus maniculatus" The mouse's body began to swell appearing as if it was going to explode; instead though the skin expanded as well. The fangs of the poor creature enlarged at a alarming rate. this entire transformation took all of three seconds. The final product was a colossal rodent who's teeth and claws looked capable of rending steel.
The potential predator was awestruck at the sudden change. Unable to avoid the creatures deadly swing; the hawk quickly found the dining arrangements would be changed for the evening.
Gailen already discovered the surge of power coursing through him due to the eclipse. Still is was not enough! "I need more! What good is power if i don't know the way to dominate it, to control it, to master it." Sighing he gathered up A Awakened State and continued on in his studies, disregarding the rampardent rodent outside.

Feeling the sun’s light bathing her skin, Ariella wakes up excitedly. A brand new day had just begun “Ah another beautiful day. A true magnificent thing” she said for she knew that shadows would no longer sorround her. After a quick shower she hurried to dress up and headed out into town to buy all her needs for the rest of the day. Once out side the sun bathed her skin once again, making her feel all of the sun’s energy flow through every single inch of her body. This sensation only reasured her safety. The safety that only the sun's warm light could grant her. Now with every minute she spend out side her insides grow stronger.

The eclipse; neither night nor day, lasting for an entire week, has finally come upon them. It was safe to say now that all those who seek for power would come out and try to proof to others that they were the strongest being. The true ruler of both the light and the dark. This could result into a deadly war. In an old broken down bar a big guy, clearly over 300 pounds stood from the stool and walked over to a petite woman who rested her head on her arm on the bar, her other hand still holding a glass with a bit of whisky still in it. He leaned over her and with his rather rough deep voice whispered into her ear "Miss, we're closing. It's time for you to go. If you'd like I can assist you in finding a hotel room" he said with a slight grin. With a smirk Seline reached into the shadows quickly and pulled out a dagger stabbing the man's hand that rested next to her arm, "Touch me and I'll assist you to your grave." she growled and raised her head slowly, her deep red eyes piercing into his. The man bit his tongue and pulled the dagger out of his hand, the dagger dissappearing into the shadows as soon as he let go. He stood back as the woman stood up from her stool and finished the last of her drink. "Glad we came to an understanding." she said and walked out of the bar putting her cloak on as she did..  

[Diamond-Eyed]

Considering the state of the world, there were a lot of people panicking. After all, there has never really been a time in memory that the people of the two sides intermingled. Yes there was the occasional person, but nothing that anyone would really notice. But now, with the eclipse everything was merging. There was no separation and people felt their minds broadening. After being so sheltered for so long, this change was very frightening to many.

Those who weren't panicking were scheming. After all, with the eclipse it seemed that everybody with an ability had grown stronger. Mere had even found that she could summon things from her dreams without having to sleep it off immediately afterwards. She had seen others who could now achieve more than they had ever thought possible.

Despite all of this, Mere's mind was surprisingly calm and blank. She couldn't bring up enough worry to panic or keep focused enough on her rise in power to start scheming in ernest. In truth, there was really only one thing that was staying in her mind.

Gailen Heard the sound of a motor in the distance. "Umm... It appears i have a guest to the mountain. I don't think a regular human could get this far on it's own. Well let's see what surprises are in store for me today." Descending down his tower; stopping to stare at a picture of his supposed parents. Memories coursing through him; remembering being thrown out on the streets when he was eight. Being told that he wasn't wanted because he was different. Remembering the cold night's he spent on the streets begging for food or work, just to get through the day. Gailen pondered why he even kept the picture of his parents. Hearing the approaching vehicle removed him from his thoughts as he continued his decent towards the door.

The wind blew through her hair as she rode her bike up the curves of the mountain. She prefered bikes over cars since not only were they faster, more compact, but she looked dam good in her leather outfit. With a small smirk she sped up as she turned, how she loved the adrenaline rush of death chasing her. She wasn't even sure where she was heading, she was just tired of not going anywhere. This was her time to shine, why waste her time drinking at bars. As she turned around another corner she saw a tower at the distance. Hmmm...Wonder if anybody's home. she thought as she approached the tower.

As the sun grew near to setting Ariella hurried to finished purchasing what she needed. "I better hurry...." Once done she started to make her way back when the sun had completely disappeared nowhere to be seen in the sky except for the bright shining moon. "I took me longer than expected...now i can't tell which way is safer." Upon the sun setting, the woods tended to become dark, making it easly for anyone to get lost. Standing infront of the woods she focused her thoughts on her palm and a small pixie like orb appeared. "This should brighten things up..." began to walk strainght "I think its this way...." Ariella walked and walked for several minutes unable to exit the woods she began to panic didn't know where to walk to and in an instant she found herself running like never befor and found herself at the foot of an unfamilar mountain with a tower at the top. Trying to catch her breath she found herself to be unexplainably attracted to the mysterious tower and slowly made her way up the hill.
