I've been noticing something as I've been watching eps on the net. Is it me or are the ANBU, supposedly the best of the best, regularly outsmarted or outclassed by everyone and anyone?

I guess I can see what makes you think that. Maybe all the good jounin were former ANBU and just quit being ANBU? or all of the ANBU are doing secret, dangerous missions all the time? To me, the ANBU just seem to consist of all the younger shinobi, so it could be that the jounin (the old ones like Kakashi) were once ANBU and just got too old for it? (I just repeated myself...) Maybe that helpeD?
