Expanded Rules & Guidelines Information Thread

For those who need a more descriptive version of the rules, this is your place!

Shop Rules
7. No asking colorists when your pet will grow up.
- If a pet hasn't grown up a stage for 3+ months you may PM the Soquili shop mule (Soquili) if that colorist has not been on an official shop haitus at all during this time. If they have been on a haitus then that's the reason the pet hasn't grown up so please allot for up to a month after their return date before PMing Soquili about it. Haitus are always announced in the Staff post on the first page. I'll start posting staff haitus depart/return dates to help this situation too.

Shop Hints & Guidelines
* If you choose to sell your breeding basket you may do so by raffle.
- Selling Soquili baskets, pets, or familiars by yourself is against the rules. Exchanging gold and RL money for Soquili created pets outside an official shop sale is forbidden and both people will be blacklisted permanently, the pet taken away to be rehomed, and a mod will be contacted. If you choose to sell a basket, it must be done through the shop via. shop-set limited ticket raffle with the shop getting a percent. You can only sell your breeding basket once and your pet is reduced to only 2 breedings from 3. Re-selling a non-breeding basket and all foals, adults, and familiars via the shop isn't possible. You may only give away your foal, adult, or familiar to a friend for free or give to the shop for free rehoming.

* Rape can be used as backstory plot device only.
- Rape as a plot device used in backstories is allowed in the shop but rape RP is not. Only those owners who have been in the shop for 6 months or more may use rape in their pet's backstory in an RP plot. Those who abuse rape as a plot device for the first time will be banned from it without warning.

* All cosplays of an artist's work that use 60% of their design need permission
- All reference pictures given to colorists from private artists (like on dA, sheezy, etc) need permission to be granted if the resulting pet is to share 60% or more likeness with the reference image. You must screenshot all permissions and send them in with your form. A colorist has permission to contact any artists if them believe the permission granted isn't real. The pet owner will be held responsible and not the shop. If an artist contacts us that no permission was granted then the pet will be deleted and the owner will be blacklisted from the shop without question. A mod will be contacted on how to proceed with the matter.

1. No profanity, fighting or drama! Be respectful to everyone at all times.
2. Only send PMs to Soquili, the shop mule.
3. Keep in mind that the shopkeepers have IRL lives; also, respect them and their decisions. (Note that in Sirenz's absence, PM the shop mule your problems and they will be dealt with upon Sirenz return.)
4. Art theft is NOT allowed. This includes non-staff taking the Soquili art and coloring it.
5. No advertising! Keep it in your sig.
6. No refunds will ever be given.
7. Payment for all Soquili is due within 24 hours. If they aren't paid for, they will be re-sold.
8. Do not ask for a job or to guest color. I will seek YOU out if I want you to guest color. wink
9. Up to 2 people can co-own flatsale and raffle Soquili; up to 3 people can co-own auction Soquili.
10. You may own as many Soquili as you can afford to take care of.

12. Bribing owners for their Soquili is NOT allowed; if anyone tries it, both parties will be subject to consequences!

14. updated: 1/21/08 All public user-run events of any kind need approval from the shop first before taking effect. Reference1 (Reference2.)
15. No claiming or putting 'dibs' on copyrighted characters such as those from movies, books, etc. That doesn't mean you can't quest for them, just that you can't prevent others from questing for the same character. It just isn't fair! A cosplay pet isn't yours 100% until it's tagged with your name on it. (Reference.)
16. Do not ask someone if you can co-own their pet. The only person who can ask for co-ownership is the owner. (Reference.)
17. When posting an image in the thread, please use a thumbnail and link to the bigger size. Photobucket.com automatically generates thumbnails if you put "th_" in front of the image name when posting the image.

19.No actively seeking breeding partners in the main thread; click here for information.
20. Themes from a work of art aren't considered a cosplay. Some people have been getting pets themed after a piece of artwork. It isn't considered a cosplay because those have a character with a story and personality. A nice pretty work of art doesn't. Pets themed after a popular copyrighted artwork will be treated like Natural Wildlife Edition pets. A male and female of the theme can exist without any problems. If one of them takes the name of the artwork title then the other has to pick a different name.
21. Another cosplay version of the opposite gender can be created with permission from the cosplay's owner. The male/female version, if permission was granted, has to look different from the other. The hair needs to be styled different, clothing differently-maybe in another outfit of the character, etc. The same colors can be allowed of course. I doubt anyone would want to give permission for a male or female version of their character but this option is open in case anyone is. exclaim Use this thread to post permission for someone to use your cosplay as another gender. If you do not post, it means you do not give permission. No one is allowed to tell you (in PMs or in soquili-related threads) to post there with your permission either.
22. Two soquilis, even male and female, can't be made to be exactly alike or similar unless they are twins or have permission from the owner. I know with horsebreeds it is bound to happen but please be aware of what other soquili look like by going to the ownerslist.

24. Skinwalkers with a no pelt version can be commissioned but the peltless SW cannot be RPed, it's just for sig only. There will be a charge added as well and colorists can choose whether or not to allow it in their customs. Sirenz is a colorist that won't because she came up with the SW concept for soquili to have pelts.

11/04/08 ~ New rule 27. Bashing the Soquili shop in another shop or other public thread is highly disrespectful and we will begin greylisting individual who are caught. Another shop isn't the place to blow off steam about someone's shop and is considered trolling. We will also be punishing those who bash OTHER's shops in OUR shop.

Thread RP Rules
1. Use whatever tense the creator of the RP went with (present or past)
2. If RPing with your avatar, create an indian persona for him/her. In the world of the Soquili every human is an indian. More about this in the guild.
3. Humans can't understand what a Soquili is saying...unless they use Soquili words (which will be introduced later). Familiars can though.
4. Try to not to leave anyone out. Give people a chance to join in.
5. No god-modding
6. Try to use (( and )) for OOC talk..its required only when ppl are RPing in the thread.
7. When RPing your Soquili, it is recommended that you use a text color.
8. If you don't own a soquili or don't want to use an indian persona for your avatar, then you can use a normal looking pet to RP with.
ex: Shaoilin wolves, Cait, Gaian Humane, etc.. just no mythology/magical based pets.
9. Drawing/commissioning art of a horse and RPing it as a soquili is not allowed.
10. Dream soquilis don't exist yet in the soquili world so are not allowed to be RPed in the guild or thread.
11. You must wait 3 week before picking a breeding mate for a new soquili adult.
12. If your Soquili already has a breeding mate and they still want to flirt romantically with another..you should make an (( OOC )) post stating that to the other person.
13. NEW RP RULE!! Non-cosplays cannot take the name of a cosplay character and they cannot take that cosplay's personality either. Source
14. NEW RP RULE!! Accents other than an "American accent" are allowed if the soquili has a backstory about why they speak that way. RP is usually conducted in a standard American accent since 95% of owners come from America. You can also RP in another language if the person you are RPing with is fluent too. If you are from another country yourself and don't know what an American accent is..then just RP how you normally do.
