I was curious to know if there were any military geezers in here? Current or retired? Any spiffy stories? I would be one, currently serving in the Air Force :3

I'm not, but interestingly enough, the otherday when I was taking the greyhound home (it was a 15 hour trip -_-) I came across someone my own age who was currently enlisted. And not just in the reserves, but he was an actual pilot. It turned out that he decided that for the time he had before he would be sent over sea's he would tour all around canada, and just so happened to be going to the same city that I lived in. So... it was early in the morning (about 2am) when we got off our bus, and were told that we would have to wait for 3 hours (till 5am) for next bus to come that would take us on the last leg of our journey home. So! We decided we would go to the Tim Hortons that was around the corner and hang out and chat to kill the time.
So we're walking there and of course we have to haul our bags (which was more of a pain for me since mine was heavier), and when we get there the place is closed. So we hear from someone else on the street that there is a 24/7 timmies about 5 blocks from the bus depot, so we walk back to the depot and then to the timmies and when we get there it turns out that it's only the drive through that's open 24/7 and we can't come in till 4am, so with a couple hours to kill, we just sat infront of timmies and talked. He helped to fill me in the political situation with the war over sea's and other things like that. Which was good, since untill that time I had decided to not get involved at all, waiting till I could find someone with a better view of it than simply the news. So yeah, we talked about the military, how france is a country full of pussies, and a few other things till about 4am, then got something to eat in Timmies, then walked back to the bus depot.

Ex-Army wife here.
Lived within the British army quarters in the north-west of Germany for over 3 years before the regiment got disbanded and my ex got moved to 40 regiment in the north of Germany. We lived there for 9 month and then moved to the UK, because he was made redundant ('cos he was a lazy born idle alcoholic, who even after over 9 years of serving in the army refused to make a stripe, because he was afraid he wasn't one of 'the boys' any more once he got some responsibility.) All this is now 14 years ago and the only connection I now have to the army are friends of mine who's husbands are still serving in the army or which are still serving them self.

Oh good, a military spouse posted so I guess a military brat can, right? ^_^; My dad's in the Air Force. Has been for 20+ years. My brother joined as well a few years back. And my cousin has been in the Coast Guard about five years. Not sure exactly where my cousin is but my brother is in Hawaii and my dad is stationed in Alabama.

Wow. Well I shouldn't even post since I have nothing to do with the army. I chose college over it, since I could have enlisted. Oh well...
But I wanted to say congrats and stay safe to the ones that are in the army. And Yay! for the air force... I always wanted to be a pilot... >_< Consider it my childhood dream...

Somewhere around here we have some other military folks, including MistaBig Fish who was over in Iraq as of the last he posted in here. Such a doll, that one ~ and cute, too. Hasn't heard from him for awhile now, and getting kinda worried about it...
My nephew just joined and is finishing up boot camp ~ have had many relatives in the service over the years and wars ~ WWII, Vietnam, more recently in Afganistan ~ the two who were there are the sons of my cousin who was in Nam with his brother ~ some scary stories...
For those of you in the military ~ take care ~ God Bless ~ and THANK YOU!
And to their families ~ much love to you, too.
