Am I crazy? [purple highlights]

Yesterday I was joking around with my sister & I was like, "it would be cool if I got purple highlights."

So of course my mom is sitting there but she's not listening & my sister says to her, "SARA WANTS PURPLE HIGHLIGHTS"

She said it would be better than tattoos or like a nose piercing, which I was joking about before too& my mom said no. So secretly, my mom thinks they'd look cute & would let me get them.

After she said that, I started to want them. D:
I can't decide if I should or not now. Everyone thinks it would look good, except for my sister. She thinks I'm crazy. xD

So, what are you opinions about colored highlights?

Well, I would never put any coloring in my own hair since my hair is like, black,
but I actually do think they might look cool in your light brown {ish?} hair. :3

You could always buy the super temporary purple hairspray,
and see if you like how it looks.

My friend had red exstensions put in her hair, which looked great.
But it's awkward to brush your hair and they become dreaded where they're glued in. (Yes, glued in!)
She had thin hair as well, so it was kinda easy to spot they were exstentions.
How about you dye them in?

I have a friend who had purple in her hair at one time. She just had enough to where you could not see them normally from her black hair but if the light hit her hair just right you would see the purple highlights. My advice is to go for it, since the worst thing that can happen is that you either have to redo your hair or that you do not like it.

I have had orange streaks in my hair for four years now. If you have dark hair, even some light browns, you have to bleach your hair first. There is a product called LOREAL Colour Rays (Yes, it is spelled with a 'u') which is great because it is meant for dark hair. It bleaches and colors in the same step which is really nice. They still make it in purple but not in orange anymore so sadly I have had to more on to more complicated coloring procedures. =(

They also have these streaking kits at hot topic which are fairly easy to use and only last one day or until you wash your hair. If you do decided to color your hair I recommend trying the color rays product as it is not too complicated. You can always wash the color out (Tide and hot water, and I mean HOT, takes dye out if it has been in for less than 24 hours. Works well on counters/clothes too.) and dye your hair back to the color it was. 4laugh

Purple highlights only go with a few base tones, such as black or blond. And it's gotta be a deep, rich purple to look somewhat decent. Otherwise forget it.

My hair is naturally medium/dark brown. It's still that color in the back, I only play with the front. ^^
