Talk about a truly heart-wrenching and gripping movie. An American Crime tells the
true story of the torture of Sylvia Likens, a 16-year old girl from the 60's. She is played excellently by Ellen Page, while Gerdy (the mother that tortured her) is played equally as well by Catherine Keener. Honestly, this may be this decade's Mother Dearest. I highly suggest seeing this movie. It is absolutely perfect...I held my breath throughout almost the entire thing because I didn't want to miss a single moment!
