Hayao Miyazaki is one of Japan's greatest animation directors. The entertaining plots, compelling characters, and breathtaking animation in his films have earned him international renown from critics as well as public recognition within Japan. The Walt Disney Company's commitment to introduce the films to the rest of the world will let more people appreciate the high-quality works he has given the movie-going public.
Hayao Miyazaki was born in Tôkyô on January 5, 1941. He started his career in 1963 as an animator at the studio Toei Douga studio, and was subsequently involved in many early classics of Japanese animation. From the beginning, he commanded attention with his incredible drawing ability and the seemingly endless stream of movie ideas he proposed.

Eee, I've watched My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Laputa: Castle in the Sky (just watched, eee!), The Castle of Cagliostro and Porco Rosso... and pretty much loved them all. Eee~!
I watched Grave of the Fireflies and felt really depressed afterwards, but I don't think that's Miyazaki's work... definitely a Studio Ghibli film, though.

That guy's amazing. I haven't watched all of 'em but someday I will. Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky & that should be all the movies I've watched that was directed by him.

It's been awhile since I watched his movies. But hmm, I wouldn't say My Neighbor Totoro's too great. 3/5 for that one. Princess Monoke, Kiki's Delivery Service & Castle in the Sky's better. In my opinion.
