Hello and welcome. For those of us without enough cash to afford some of the more intense models or those who merely wish to playtest different things accurately, this thread is going up.

Purpose:
-Help with creating proxies.
-Sharing measurements on models for the creation.
-Interesting conversions using mundane materials.

My current proxy projects:
-1+ Baneblade or Hellhammer
-1+ Marauder body
-1+ Vulture/Valkyrie

So, first things up:

Can anybody provide me with the rough measurements on some of the things listed?

I've never actually used a proxy... I can get you measurements for a lot of Eldar, Imperial Guard, and Space Marine stuff, though.

You have a Raider that you could give me some quick stuff on?

Height, Tread Width, Length, placement of Cupolas, placement of the Sponsons.

I love you. heart

And yeah, fire-link. A crusader hull will do perfectly.

I plan on picking up some heavy-duty cardstock soon so that I can begin to make these kids.

Sorry, already accounting for by a very jealous guy sweatdrop

If you want cheap aircraft you should pop by your local hobby store and get several 1:48 helicopter kits that with a little converting could be turned into either a Vulture or Valkyrie. For a Marauder I'd say go for a large Lancaster model, stick on jet engines and modify the turrets as noted in the rulebook.

Indeed I shall do that, provided that I can find some more cash. I've got $75 in my wallet that's going to be used to pick up a stack of necessaries: 5th Edition, Cities of Death, a few rule books, etc.

Score!

While doing some cleaning in the back room of my basement, I came across an unassembled 1:48 scale model of a P-61 Black Widow. My thought is that it would make a good Vulture, but I'm looking for suggestions on what it could be.

That should work decently if it's the proper size. You'll need to convert the back a bit, but I wouldn't think it'd be too hard.

Yeah. Anybody know the wingspan of a Vulture?
